Tramadol

Swim likes taking tramadol from time to time 150 to 200mgs, gives swim a nice buzz and sometimes likes to drink a few beers with this, how dangerous is this?

Re: Tramadol

here are the differents interaction of tramadol with other drugs:

TRAMADOL should not be associated with MAOIs. It may interact with other medicines, especially sedatives, depressants, central nervous system, and tricyclic antidepressants. Use of tramadol is likely to increase the toxic effect of alcohol . Phenytoin and rifampicin may reduce the effect of opioid TRAMADOL.

Re: Tramadol

In swims opinion tramadol is known to give seizures – swim doesn’t know much about mixing it with alcohol ….. but common sense would dictate not doing that.
Swim does know however that it should not be mixed with any SSRI drugs (Serotonine re-uptake inhibitors) and a series of other antidepressants

Yes MAOI-s , SSRI-s and anti-epileptic drugs like carbamazepine (not sure if that falls in MAOI category)
Basically all swim is saying apply some caution with tramadol ,as it has a series of things that does not interact well with

Carbamazepine is a voltage-gated sodium channel blocker. It also potentiates GABA. Those two actions make carbamazepine a CNS depressant (hence antiepileptic), which is why shouldn't be mixed with opiates.

So no, not an MAOI.
