SWIM doesn't understand drinkers...

swim isn't trying to offend anyone or belittle their taste in drugs by using terms like inexperienced and uncultured... sorry if he just did but seriously, alcohol was swim's first course meal at the feast that has been the last year and a half. swim began to try other drugs (mostly beneficial ones) but a substantial plenty recreational though he'll try to deny it. if swim wanted to be still and unsympathetic he could chase xanax with valium, and if he wanted to feel good he could tilt the poppy teapot and keep his communism a secret and his list white.

the thing is the majority of the people swim respects most (who create fiction versus being created by it) are alcoholics, or have the genes of heroes that drink every night but don't have "a problem". where does this pull, nefarious for draining so many brilliant writers, come from? perhaps poetry is the inability to grasp logic, and only those who haven't eaten from the tree of knowledge (capote, faulkner, thompson, frey, king, morrison, joplin, hendrix) can appreciate it?
