Side-Effects stories of Psychedelics

Lets start with a story...There was a child who was successfully diagnosed with type I bipolar disorder in 4th grade. Since that time this individual has grown up and become extremely experienced with psychedelics (starting around sophmore/junior year in high school). Four years ago, at age 19, he finally started taking Seroquel because the psychedelics had caused the anxiety, coupled with the ups and downs, to become too great to handle (it was obvious this was directly linked to the psychedelics). This individual still uses psychedelics regularly and has had no anxiety and surprisingly controllable mood stability since he's started medicating...in fact, this individual has had no apparent negative side-effects from these drugs, even from the view-point of outside observers.
My point for this story is that although the psychedelics potentiated a severe disorder in the subject, the disorder itself was caused by underlying conditions. Once those conditions were treated effectively, the psychedelics no longer had anything to potentiate beyond a controllable measure.
Without a dout, psychedelics can be an introspective tool of unprecidented efficacy for many people, but this is just one example of how they also have the power to bring out underlying conditions, phobias, and abnormal thought patterns in those individuals who are susceptable. What I'd like to see is other peoples stories in regard to side effects that can justly be fit into this category...

Re: Side-Effects stories of Psychedelics

True, very true.Psychedelics reset your mind,so at least regarding anxiety it may happen that the mechanisms of dealing with it are temporarely out of order...they have been reset and in a way the person must re-learn to cope with the problem that was brought up by psychedelics. Also it might be that psychedelics bring up some sort of anxiety causing stuff that was previousley supressed and that can cause a lot of anxiety after a trip is over...
