san pedro preparation and dosage?
A 40 year old san pedro that used to live around my house touched a high voltage line last week and died.
... that's the bad news, the good news is that I got about a kg of clean san pedro [clean being only the gree skin, none of the white stuff or waxy skin] I want to use it with a bunch of friends... how many ppl can trip on it to trip hard... ? Im guessing about ten... since we cleaned about 18 feet of sn pter... what's the best preparation method... dried? or traditional syrup? [Im inclined towards the dried for simplycity but towards the traditional to do it right... |

SWIM would have saved all the cactus except the woody core and cooked it down into syrup. If you've got 1 kg, SWIM reckons that should be enough for 2 or 3 people to trip hard depending on potency. Since the plant was so old it may go a lot farther than that. It really is hard to say until someone assays and determines the potency. SloppoEdited by: sloppo |

Usually 12-18 feet of San Pedro per person but each plant varies so you
must try it first to know. |

There is considerable variation in mescaline content within “San Pedro.” Thus, especially if you are using dried cactus, the only way to know is to try it. 25 grams is often suggested as an appropriate dose for dried San Pedro, however, that will vary depending on the source plant and the preparation. Apparently there is no experience with this specific source plant. So select a moderately low dose level and bioassay it. Judge from there if it might be better to increase or decrease the dosage, and then try that out . . . etc. To try to have a group of people trip hard without first bioassaying it on a smaller scale will potentially result in a waste of cactus (and perhaps a waste of friends).
Too bad the source plant is dead. Otherwise, after you had gone through this process, you would have a better idea of what to expect from future harvests from this plant. |
