Dried Poppy Pods? Where did the Opium go?

ok. so swim was walking past the local flower shop on his way to work when swim noticed that store was selling big, dried poppy pods for a couple dollars a bundle.

swim bought a few, took them home and went to work. swim's question is this...

these pods still have seeds in them and from what i can tell they haven't been punctured, sliced or drilled in any form.

so where did the opium latex go?
