Are weights getting smaller in the UK?

SWIM has been out of the loop for a while and has heard that recently eighths have been getting smaller in weight. Apparently they're now 3 grams?? SWIM got duped yesterday and desperately bought a 2 gram 'eighth'... what's going on? Is SWIM just unlucky?
