Is there that much strain choice in the UK?

Firstly I'd like to point out that SWIM is not looking for contacts or specific information.

SWIM would just like to know how common it is for people in the UK to get an option of different strains. SWIM feels rather annoyed that she can only find whatever skunk's going around and is never told whether it's sativa or indica. SWIM would like a whole menu to choose from... SWIM would especially like to try some sativa because she wants more of an energetic high. But what is SWIM to do? Are there actually places in the UK that offer such choice, like the medical marijuana clinic in Weeds (TV show) drrooooool.

Re: Is there that much strain choice in the UK?

Well, I wouldn't expect to find the kind of options you see in a fictional TV show but there's always variety out there. SWIM's not technically from the UK or anything but he guesses that operations are pretty similar but on a larger scale. At certain times of the year, a town might be flooded with the same strain from a big supplier which can be annoying because variation is what makes cannabis enjoyable. Financially ambitious dealers tend to offload the worst shite too because they're interested in profit, not service. Your best bet is to try and broaden your network a bit. Get in contact with stoners who live out of town, who might hang around in different circles, afficionados. SWIM never expects ringing someone up and getting a choice of three or four top-notch strains but it is nice when something distinctive comes along. In case of limited options, just buy less and hold onto your money until something better appears.

Re: Is there that much strain choice in the UK?

In SWIM's experience, he has only found a satisfying choice of strains from a few dealers, in the two big cities he has lived in (Bristol & London). Those guys were getting various strains from various homegrowers and a lot of the weed from those guys was Amsterdam quality. Outside of those situations SWIM has found the green is pretty homogenous (factory produced weed and sticky black - that's it).
