Mushrooms and Dream Recall

Mushrooms and Dream Recall
(Or, "Living a Dream")

My crazy mushroom loving friend Labrat experienced a very strange
phenomenon on a mushroom trip awhile back. This is something that
Labrat has had happen a couple of times (that can be remembered, lol)
and involves VERY vivid dream recall while tripping - of dreams which
happened months, or even years in the past...

Labrat sent me a letter about this most recent experience, and I will post
it here for your scrutiny:

Quote:
It happened on about 3 grams of some pretty good cubensis mushrooms,
the dream recall. I had had been having a good time, and was at this
point past the peak and starting to come down a little bit. I remember
just laying in bed kinda spacing out and letting my mind just wander.

I was in a dark green field. There was a mountain in the middle of the field,
with a small stream which went around it like a moat. There were some
flowers and stuff. The whole setting had a dark and sinister undertone,
and looked pretty fake, in fact the textures and angles were very much
like those in a video game for the Nintendo 64. There was even some
obnoxious, very video-game-like music playing softly in the background. I
was just wandering around, trying to figure out how the hell I was going to
get to the top of the mountain...

...When all of a sudden I snapped back to reality, with the realization that
this was the exact same dream that I had had a couple months ago! I
had actually totally forgotten I had even had that dream until reliving it
during the trip. And once it was brought back, there was no doubt about
it - everything was the same: the setting, that stupid music, my mindset
while dreaming, what I was doing...

It was incredibly surreal.

Living a dream...
So, now me and my Labrat have some questions for all of you:

1. Have your lab animals ever experienced something similar?
2. Do you think that there is a link between the tripping mind and the
dreaming mind? Or do you simply think that your subconscious memory is
being brought to the surface?
3. Any other thoughts?

Labrat and I are interested to hear what you think!

Swim did, but it was with weed instead shrooms, and the experience was much less vivid than swiys.

Swim thinks both waking mind, dreaming mind and tripping mind are just different "stations" our minds are tuned into at each moment... and swim thinks what is called subconscious memory is just the records from what we percieved at all this different mind states, that sometimes get available for the waking mind, giving the feeling of remembering/reviving them.

Swim did read that it could be possible to integrate some (or maybe many) different mind states (like waking, dreaming, tripping, etc) into the same, so one that were awake could remember things he dreamed as easily as things he did when awake, and one that were dreaming could remember things he did when awake as easily as things he did when dreaming... and the same could happen with tripping and other states of consciousness.

Swim has no idea if it is actually possible to do so, as the proposed techniques were very unusual and required hard work. But anyway it remains as an interesting (and trippy) theorethical possibility.
