Pharmacology - Possible "fake" Adderall/Generic amphetamine salts?

Swim has been using Adderall for around a year now, mostly by buying them off close friends at a low fee. However, Swim felt it would be cheaper to get them from a doctor, and since Swim had a prior diagnosis of ADD, it was easy. Swim simply went to his normal doc, and asked for possible medication. Eventually steering the conversation to Adderall, and received a script for a months supply of Adderall xr, 20mg. (Which is the exact dose Swim was using before)

Swim had been clean from all "uppers" for about two months now, since his supply had been cut off. Swim believes that tolerance should be close to zero now, though he had never felt any build up of tolerance before.

The first time Swim used the generic Swim got from his docter, he felt the normal effects. Appetite suppression, very mild euphoria (though one could feel it. Like one could take on the world), very talketive, and of course more energy and concentration.

However the second time Swim took the prescribed Adderall generic, the effects were almost gone. Appetite suppression wasn't there, no euphoria whatsoever, not talketive, and no energy. The context in which Swim took the dose was exactly the same as before, eight hours of sleep, empty stomach, ect ect.

Is it possible Swim might have gotten "short dated" generics (Swims family used to work in medication distrobution, and has heard of drugs being sold either right on, or directly after their experation date), or a mix of placebo's and the real thing? Swim doesn't believe it's possible that he could have built up tolerance with one dose, after going 2 months sober.

Did SWIY crush up the XR capsule?

No, Swim took the pill as prescribed. Swim likes the long lasting effect, and would not like to have it shortened.

well the thing with the XR is that it is time released. so swiy's problem is that he is only getting 10 mg's when you first take them and then 10 more about 4 hours later. If SWIY crushed them up, he would eliminate the time release and would get all 20 at once and get a 4 hour "high". If swiy doubled what he normally takes then you would get the full 8 hours of speedin. Crushing them up doesnt make them last shorter, its the snorting that does that. Crush up the dose swiy normally takes and just parachute it. You will get the desired effects. My friend would imagine swiy was not getting xr from his friends and so the confusion.
