SWIM ordered the Ayahuasca Kit 1 from a reputable supplier in the Netherlands. All went well and the kit arrived in perfect condition containing 25 grams of Banisteriopsis caapi and 25 grams of Psychotria viridis plus instruction as to preparation. Well SWIM ground up the Psychotria as well as the caapi vine. Then SWIM set out boiling the herbs with pH adjusted water (pH5 with lemon juice). This boiling took the entire saturday with about 4 changes of water. All the boilings were combined and reduced to 1 litre. The next day SWIM prepared a spot in the garden, made a small file for ambiance and started consuming the green broth. It was actually not as vile as SWIM expected it to be. SWIM did not get sick nor did SWIM vomit (have to confess SWIM fasted since the prvious day only eating bread and drinking water). Nothing happened, nothing at all save for the fact that SWIM started feeling bloated. Eventually after consuming it all and waiting around for 3 hours with nothing happening, SWIM decided to call it quits.

My question now is what went wrong. Can anyone help in diagnosing what went wrong. The herbs were dry when SWIM got them and someone told SWIM that they should have been fresh...
