Pharmacology - Mushrooms and Mescaline Cross Tolerance

ok, i read elsewhere that mushrooms and peruvian torch are cross-tolerant. my friend and i have some cactus for next friday, but i also have some mushrooms and wondered if having the mushrooms today will have any impact on the strength of the cactus trip on friday?

Hard to tell. I've never done cactus but I have tripped on mushrooms a few days before tripping on LSD and I found that it didn't change the effects at all.

You should be fine. Mescaline and psilocybin are cross-tolerant,
but six days spaced apart should kill any tolerance.

SWIM has not noticed any significant tolerance build up from mescaline. SWIM has eaten mescaline then shrooms the following day with no noticed diminishing of effects. SWIM finds mescaline works fine day after day also, but definite tolerance builds up quickly from mushrooms.

excellent, thank you. my friend is coming over on sunday hopefully (if he can get a lift) and we're gonna have our first mescaline experience. gonna start low with the dose though! thanks for your help

Alot of psychedellics could be at least somehwhat cross tolerent due to the fact that they act on some of the same neurotransmitter systems.


As long as you keep things spaced out you should be fine however.

i definitely build a tolerance to mushrooms so fast that i cant do them
more often than every 1-2 weeks (I would shroom every day if I could).
if they are cross tolerant problems could arise, at least doing shrooms
after the mescaline, it doesnt seem like shrooms and then mescaline
would cause any problems.

well in the end my mate couldnt get a lift, so it looks like we wont be tripping for a few weeks. by which time itll have been a month since i did the mushrooms... good to know for the future though, thanks
