Drug info - Adderall and high blood pressure.

Well my friend went to the doctor again last month and he said that his blood pressure was higher than when he first came in. Could this be from abusing adderall? Some type of heart damage? His doctor wants him to start taking Chantrix to quit smoking to reduce his blood pressure. he smoked before he started taking adderall and his blood pressure was normal, only after he abused his medication has it gone up. He has never taken it as prescribed. he has been on it for 3 months, been to the doctor 4 times and had his heart rate and blood pressure monitored each time.. What if he refused to quit smoking, would he get something else to lower his blood pressure, like a beta blocker perhaps??? thanks.
