"Heavy Adderall usage"... Swim needs help!!
Swim is looking for any input from Swiyz who can help.Swim was prescribed Adderall two months ago and is blasting through his meds like there is no manyana.1st months script was for: 20mg Xr once a day=30 capsules....there was no issues bustin up those little beads and goin Nasal. It just took a little getting used to.Those lasted about two weeks and that was it.Swim convinced his Doc that it was not enough to get him through the entire day and that the Xr was to expensive, seeing as Swim has to pay cash for his meds.In turn the Doc jacked up the dosage to: 30mg Ir twice a day=60 pills.Needless to say Swim has run through these as well and wont make it through the month.Swim has 4 pills left and around 15 days or so till next visit and is a little worried.Swim used to be a heavy pain pill user for 3 long years. This consisted of 8 to 10 30mg Roxyz(oxycodone),5 or more 10mg Norcoz(hydrocodone),Somaz and many Xanax all day long.Swim quit Cold Turkey with nothing but the aid of a few Subuxone(3 to be exact)and many days of pain and suffering.Swim knows the Adderall usage has not been for very long and that it cant be as bad as the opiate withdraws were, but in effect has know idea what to expect.Swim has basically been Insufflating along with taking 90mg or more a day for for about 12 days or so.Swim hopes this doesnt seem like it is a stupid thing to ask help for but isnt really to well versed in Adderall Usage.Any advice and or comments by Swiyz will be great.Sorry again if Swim is coming off like a Punk or a Duche.....just want to know what to expect, for now and definetly for the future.

Re: "Heavy Adderall usage"... Swim needs help!!
Good Evening Mista-enigma,
No worries, asking for help / advice isn't dumb. It is always a good idea to research the effects of coming off a drug (especially after a binge!) so that SWIY knows what to expect. The short answer is that SWIM doesn't think coming off Adderall will be too difficult for SWIY. SWIM is basing this hypothesis on a few things. First, SWIY was using opiates heavily for three years and was able to quit cold turkey and make it through the withdrawals. Generally speaking, withdrawal from opiates is more severe than that of amphetamine. There are various reasons for this, but in general amphetamine (Adderall, Dexedrine, etc.) does not cause what would be defined as physical dependence the way opiates have the potential to. If SWIY has successfully dealt with opiate withdrawal, then withdrawing from Adderall should be much more bearable in comparison. Second, SWIY hasn't been using Adderall for all that long. Long enough to cause some tolerance and some form of addiction? Sure. Long enough to cause the "worst case scenario" for an amphetamine withdrawal? SWIM doubts it, though in this crazy world anything is possible .So where does that leave us with what to expect as far as withdrawal effects from Adderall? SWIM would think that SWIY should expect a mild to moderate manifestation of the usual effects of amphetamine comedown. The most noticeable and common effect is tiredness and a bit of a depression or "brain fog" if you will. Based on SWIY's dose, it might last a few days, getting a little better each day as SWIY "sleeps it off". The severity of the tiredness varies a lot from person to person. Some people feel a near constant need to sleep, while others barely notice it. Usually nothing a quick cup of coffee or similar can't fix . A large increase in appetite is also very common. A few of the other possibilities are anxiety and confusion. When SWIM quit using amphetamine for good, he quit cold turkey from using 50 - 300mg per day after having kept that up for years. Even with that high dose, SWIM found the withdrawal effects to be pretty manageable. SWIY's withdrawal will probably be a bit less since his dose and duration was less. All in all, it shouldn't be too bad for SWIY.On the bright side, it will give SWIY's body a bit of time to catch up on sleep and food intake in addition to letting SWIY's tolerance go down a bit! If things do get rough, SWIY can always post here for some suggestions. Best of luck! DecoyPencil |

Re: "Heavy Adderall usage"... Swim needs help!!
Swim just wanted to say thanks. The information was great. Its Swims 1st day with out and he feels fine.Swim is looking foward to next time as he is sure his tolerance will welcome it with open arms.Swim only wishes his pain meds would have been this easy....the difference between the two is drastic.Swim is looking at this with a new found glory, but at the same time worried. He knows his tolerance will at some point get to were his meds must be up'd again.Swim needs these meds for his ADHD but wishes the Euphoric feeling would stay with him.Its evident that doesnt,in only 2 months time that has already revealed itself.Swim is somewhat wishing there was a perfect solution to the prescription of a stimulant to a person with an addictive personality .....but knows more than likely there isnt.Any more info on this subject would be a welcome

Re: "Heavy Adderall usage"... Swim needs help!!
Sparkles hopes Mista-enigma is feeling better soon. Can she just ask him something though? "How will his ADHD be affected if he has no meds?" Apologies if this sounds like a dumb question, but Sparkles doesn't know much about this.

Re: "Heavy Adderall usage"... Swim needs help!!
Well Ms. Sparks....Swim isnt sure just yet ,might take a day or two.But Swim can tell you this...when he 1st started to take his meds his ADHD was obliterated,he was wishing he was put on these meds along time ago!!!!
His depression believe it or not was also wiped almost instantly .This was suprising as Swim didnt think that would happen.ANyway Swim will let it be known how his ADHD is in a day or two.

Thanks for that Mister-enigma. Sparkles isn't too clever, but she does want to learn. The more she knows about stuff the better she understands it really.
Thanks for offering to share it. Hope he's ok. Sparkles.
