Sugar-based wort:Can it work??

Swim has recently constructed a pretty simple pot still out of a pressure cooker and copper tubing. Now swim is triying to get alcohol as tasteless as possible for mixing, and was thinking of fermenting just sugar and water since he doesn't wanna spend too much money on it.

Now, for the questions:

Will it produce a substancial amount of alcohol, say 5%-8%? Swim doesn't have access to yeast nutrients so if there's anything at home that can provide the nutrients to the yeast swim would be happy to know about it.

And is the methanol too dangerous?Swim can discard the first 50ml no problem but it's gonna be way more complicated to discard the last 50ml...Is discarding the first 50ml enough?

P.S:Potter, I know you're going to answer my question as you have answered every alcohol-related question I have ever asked. So thanks in advance

Oh yeah, and one more thing:

Swim found a Lidocaine(Xylocaine) spray used to numb your mouth and it's 95% non-denatured ethanol.Would distilling it remove the lidocaine? If so, would it be safe to drink?
