Allergic to pale ale?
Hey SWIM wants to know whats up with him.
SWIM drinks on average one beer in the evening 3 times a week. SWIM has had no problem with doing this for the past year. Then SWIM got a couple bottles of home brew pale ale given to him by a friend. As SWIM was half way through the second bottle SWIM noticed his throat was sore. The next day he woke up and his throat hurt and he felt a little sick. Now SWIM has a mid level headache, sore throat and has that annoying sick feeling. It seems every once in a while Certian beers trigger SWIM and he gets sick. What SWIM wants to know is; can someone be allergic to a certian type of beer such as a pale ale while having no problems with a lager? |

Re: Allergic to pale ale?
It's wholly possible. Pale ale is made from ale yeast and what are known as "pale" malts which could result in separate side effects to regular lager. The sore throat sounds like a bad sign. Perhaps you should see and doctor and try to get tested for allergies. It's better to be in the know about potential substances that can make you very sick, or worse.

Re: Allergic to pale ale?
Also If this was home brew it might have something to do with it. Homemade hooch doesn't adhere to the same quality control as store bought stuff. Really hard for anyone here to say, see a doc as suggested.
