How much weight is a piece?

P.S. Swim is tired of all these people saying how horrible black tar is. Black tar currently has been reported to have record highs, reaching 90%.

I think the OP is asking how much weight is a "piece". This is no worse that asking how much weight is an eightball, and is not against the rules. That said, I've no idea as to the answer, assuming there even is one.

Surely the term 'piece' is localised and although Swim has never heard of black tar heroin in the UK (its all powder) the price is always about weight.

A piece is the mexican equivalent i.e 24g/oz as oppossed to the 28gs/oz.Swir remembers when she bought her first weight (quarter oz)and she gets 6 friggin' grams."Wha up man?" swim's never heard of this. You get what you pay for, unless you're unknowilingly being robbed. if you buy an ounce of anything, you get your 28 grams, and if it's short they cut the price equivilantly. But this "mexian ounce" sounds like a common scam. Swim thinks that these sound like dirty dealers, and shouldn't be bought off of.

there's a misconception by people who haven't experienced this... on the west coast, swiyou don't buy an oz., swiyou instead would buy a piece. it isn't distributed in ounces, but rather in pieces, which are just shy of ounces. it's not that anyone is getting ripped off or anything. this is just how it's broken down. don't know why... that's just how it is when dealing with west coast tar, according to my friend.

If these pieces are 25 grams, I doubt very much that they are 90% pure. The article says it is usually sold by the piece and I doubt very much heroin users would usually buy something which might be up to 22.5 grams of heroin.

according to swim, usually when someone buys a "piece," it's isn't for personal use. it's usually for the user's many friends and associates who also want some of it. the west coast piece of dope is equivalent to the east coast ounce of dope... they hold the same purpose. it's those people buying in bulk for monetary reasons who "usually" buy it in pieces. on the street, tar is sold in bags just as it is on the east coast, except it's not stamp or wax bags or ballons, theyre just little baggies, says swim.

swim always thought a piece was just that...a tiny li'l piece of dope like a 1/2 gram or a gram. suppose it depends on the kind of piece one needs.
