Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

Swim is now in love with Adderall! It is prescribed to swim for his ADHD. Swim has always had ADHD and never did anything about it. Finally after many years of fighting this disorder..I.E. losing things , not keeping a job, starting things and never finishing them...etc. Swim was put on the right medication. Swim has always used different substances (to the max swim might add) and all the while didnt know swim was trying to cover up swims ADHD. Swim read some where that ADHD can cause a person to have substance abuse problems or rather facilitate substance abuse,in the hopes that the disorder will go away. Well Swim is here to tell everyone that this Drug is fantastic. Talk about getting things done!!!! The first night Swim got this medication he took care of things for the next three days,WITHOUT SLEEPING!!! Yes there is a chance of becoming an addict on this medication, but Swim is here to tell you, if to be an addict let it be an amphetamine addict. Swim was an Opiate lover. Ten 30s a day at one point. Felt like swim could do anything, when really swim was bombed out all the time. Surely swim was in no pain, but really OPIATES ....come on Swiys cant get nothing done like that. Yea Swim has pain. In fact Swim thinks he is in more pain now than ever before. If some one can confirm this it would be great. Swim thinks there is a corelation between the massive uptake of seritonin from amphetamines that makes pain more prevalent. If Swiys can confirm or comment on that it would be great. In any event if Swiy has ADHD and is prescribed this wonder Drug,Swiy knows what Swim is talkin about.Until next time....ZOOM ZOOM!!!

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

swim's in the same boat as you.. he did opiates for a couple months, then decided to get some amphetamines..

amphetamines gets you high AND you can still do stuff.. with opiates, you just lay down and do fuckall for the whole day/night.

swim can't wait to try speedballing it though.

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

Swim just got a hold of some Roxy 15s and did a nice mix down with the Adderall(orally). Its not enough to get a real speedball effect but it is a nice smooth buzz.Swim might try a little higher dose later tonight. Was super bad on them mugs so dont want to do to much for fear of gettin stuck on them again.Whats Swiy think about an insufflation mix of 30mg of Adderall and 30mg of Oxy.......the blue and pink color should make a nice mix....What-What!!!

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

you got the 10mg adderalls?

swim's got 20s, and they're a lovely bright orange, which is kinda cool cuz a speed pill SHOULD have that amped kinda color.

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

yeah.. quit taking them for a day or 2 and they'll give you that same boost again..

it seems (at least in swim's experience so far) that tolerance rapidly ramps up and rapidly dissolves as well.

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

WOW 10 30's a day is a CRAZY high dose. SWIM used to love opiates too but is on suboxone so cant really answer the physical pain thing. He too can stay up for 2 days, get alot of things done fast. He only takes a 20-60mgs a day, in 10mg doses in that 2 day period though. He dosent have a script, SWIM dosent really believe in ADD or ADHD but thats just his opinion.

The only drawback on adderall is that it really screws with people's motivation. When SWIM dosent have any and has to go to work or do a long tedious task it seems to last SOO long. For SWIM it adderall makes boring things fun so when their not fun anymore their 2X as boring as they were before SWIM started taking adderall.

Swim didnt used to think ADHD was real until he started to look at the symptoms. Then Swim "Was like Whoa"(like Black Rob)...they were all to much to read. The not being able to hold a job down shit.......Shit .....Swim has had 50+ jobs easy in his lifetime all being held down no longer than 6 months or so.But the Adderall really helps Swim out but he never can keep it long enough to get him through the month.Swim has been bout 3 days or so now without and he can barely get anything done.It blows a fat one!!

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

wow, be careful kid.

you've been given an opportunity to fix your life with a valuable tool.. don't go getting addicted to your amphetamine script now.

i take Dex 5 days a week for ADHD.

yeah it's great the first couple of weeks, you start critically analyzing your life, making big changes in all areas of life... a lot of them will stick, you'll start developing newer better habits.

but seriously, take the meds as prescribed, and if you know you're getting high on them, even at the prescribed dosage, then be responsible enough to reduce your own dosage.

b/c if you stayed up the first three days, you're gonna come down hard soon.

if you're taking this for ADHD you're going to be on them long term (years if not the rest of your life)

amphetamines pretty much conquer all initially, but if you abuse them now, tolerance will set in RAPIDLY, and side effects will become severe... the overwhelming motivating feeling will subside soon but if you use them like you're supposed to you'll be left able to concentrate and focus and keep your life together by your own power of will.

it's okay to feel a little nice warm euphoria for the first hour or so after taking your morning dose, really prolly nothing to do about that, i mean people feel that way after a morning coffee but seriously there's a thin line between responsible use and abuse and you're crossing it.

not trying to preach, swim use drugs rec, swim abused his script before, but honestly it's just not worth it, in the end it's too much ups and downs and the meds don't work reliably when you use them that way.. u need consistency.

that being said, i know the feeling of being able to suddenly get your life together and feel like you can actually make progress in life... like you can learn the normal day to day things about success in school, work, and relationships.

just remember this is a big transition and don't take it with a grain of salt, these pills aren't a cure all but they are as valuable to someone with ADHD as insulin is to a diabetic.

sleep is your friend. you'll learn that even on 5-6 hours of sleep, your meds won't work right, you'll have to be even more disciplined than before about sleeping habits, otherwise your meds will just make you irritable and edgy and you'll get all the side effects and no benefits. the first few weeks you can get by with 2-3 hours of sleep wake up, take your meds and be fine all day... but after that things start to change.

onzero added 4 Minutes and 14 Seconds later...

oh and amphetamine definitely acts as an analgesic.

whatever you wrote about serotonin increasing pain is garbage.

10mg dextroamph to swim is approximately equivalent to 10-15mg hydrocodone in painkilling effects except it lasts pretty much all day.

in fact there are a lot of studies where people on chronic opioid therapy for pain were augmented with dextroamphetamine and found siginificantly enhanced analgesia as well as less somnolence (sleepiness) and better cognitive functioning.

the pain is probably from your oxy withdrawal. amphetamine despite making you feel pretty good can precipitate opiate withdrawal.

part of keeping a job is consistency. if you're good 27 days out of the month but a total space case the other 3, you will inevitably get fired. another reason not to abuse your scripts.

get it together, theres a reason these are Schedule II meds.

seriously, you'd be better off taking your scripts as given and then taking some roxi on the weekends to get high. i'm not condoning that behavior but it's better than what your'e doing now b/c you need to be able to function consistently!

Re: Ex-Opiate lover now Adderall lover!!

Thanks for the advice there Swiy....Swim will have to keep those things in mind.Whenever things are new it takes a little getting used to,no matter what the scenario maybe. In this case Swim is on his third month of being prescribed his Adderall and without Sugar-coating anything ......Swim will admit he has not been very responsible. This will come in time Swim thinks,it has to in order to have an ordinary life.Swim has not had one of these for many many years. This medication is not the End all Be all but will for sure play the major role..NO DOUBT!The Euphoria is quite shocking at first and can be overwhelming to an individual, surely one who has had substance abuse issues in the past.Swim will need to get over the Euphoria and understand that it is in essence giving Swim the abilty to function properly.Swim laughs at individulas who balk at the ADHD discussion of... Is it true?... and so on and so forth.Swim will surely be glad to trade one of his days with any Swiy who doubts it.But these things can be debated somewhere else and at a later date.Balance is what Swim will have to control and many other things as well. But Swim has to want to improve in order to advance in life. This is what Swim wants in a way that cant be described...so this is what Swim will get.So Swim will take the Adderall as prescribed and be a responsible semi-young Swim that all the other Swiyz can look up to. Thanks again there Friend....great encouragement and all that Jazz.Oh and by the way Swim wasnt confirming anything about Seritonin and pain ..Swim was asking about it.In no way shape or form does Adderall relieve any pains Swim has, they really feel worse than when Swim doesnt take Addyz.Swim has serious pain issues and has been Opiate free for months.... so no withdrawls here. And while on the topic ...what do Swiyz think the chances are of being prescribed pain meds whilst being prescribed Adderall. Is this something that is common or uncommon(Opiates and Adderall Rx together).Swim is for realz going to have to get back on Pain Meds....pain is too much. One!
