Re: tuinal
Sparkles believes they are still produced in the UK but she hasn't heard of anyone getting a script for them for years. They are highly addictive and there were lots of accidental overdoses in the 70s. Very popular with junkies and lots died as a result of taking them. Doctors started switching people over to benzo's as they were seen as less addictive and the overdose potential was a lot lower.
Sparkles took them and had a couple of close calls (ended up on a barb ward). Problem with "Christmas trees" (Tuinal) is they work very quickly, especially when taken with alcohol. They used to be given for insomnia, along with Seconal and Nembutal, but if you weren't in bed when they took effect you would fall asleep wherever you were, LITERALLY. Not a safe drug to take to be honest. Only advisable under strict supervision. There are lot's of less dangerous drugs (than barbiturates) available today. Sparkles would advise swiy, if they have any, not to take them. Take care.
