Worst Song/Music on Ecstasy

Inspired by the topic on the best techno song you ever heard while on a
pill (or tripping) I am curous to know what people's worst musical
experiences have been. Any songs that you never realized you hated
until you heard it high? Any songs/artists that really kill your buzz?

When I heard Thievery Corporation when I was peaking on mushrooms all
of a sudden the music just sounded so thin, shallow and lame that I've
never really been able to listen to their music again. I used to quite
like them as well.

And the worst ever is any screechy female vocalist--like the Cranberries or Alannis *shudder*

I hate commercial hip-hop, but there is some less mainstream stuff that
is quite trippy and enjoyable. For example, MF Doom, Hieroglyphics, Del
tha Funky Homosapien's latest album, Prefuse 73 and a lot of the
artists on a label called Def Jux. Most of the hip-hop artists I like
make music that is pretty complex, with good production and lyrics more
than a little inspired by drugs.

It's just that commercial hip-hop (like Jay-Z) is sooooo dismal these
days. It should really be separated from the artists that are actually
creating something new and interesting, or expressing something
artistically.

I love heavy rock and that really sucks when you trip. On the techno side for some reasonI find songs with male vocals never work when I'm tripping, even ifI like them normally, whereas songs with female vocals always sound amazing.

i think id hate heavy metal when on e. i mean, i dont like it anyway, stuff like nine inch nails or metallica or whatever (forgive me if these are not classed as heavy metal as i know nothing about this kind of music ) however stuff like hendrix or whatever is good.

also manufactured pop bullshit like s club or britney or <insert name here> would bring me down no end.

i find that good quality trance/dance,funky house/ is the best. as long as it doesnt have cheesy lyrics with a voice that makes you wanna sit down in the middle of a club, cover your ears and cry all night.

anything by oceanlab, agnelli nelson, armin, marcel woods is pretty good.

rap, or any songs that are not got good female vocals are shte and will bing you right down to china town and once there youl never get up again that night.

that reminds me, who are the dance groo that did them dance songs, pretty green eyes, i hate that mans voice, hes just so annoying

Most mainstream three minute buzz tracks that you see on MTV just kill me when I'm rolling. I don't really like listening to anything too heavy either, although normally I love metal. Rap doesn't work too well either usually.

Best music for me when rolling is psychadelic space rock. That genre of music combines fast, breath-taking beats with real unpredictability and innovation something that most techno, house and trance completely lacks.

Metal, hard rock, and rap all sound horrible to SWIM when he's rolling.
Even when he's in the club having a great time with friends, if he
actually listens to the rap being played then it doesn't sound that
good. He does however love feeling all the bass pounding out of the
speakers though.

SWIMlikes to roll, while at a club that DJ Deko-ze is playing at.

This man is amazing, he plays a funky tribal house style, and it's brilliant when rolling. Sadly he's most popular now in and around southern Ontario playing after hours clubs like "THE COMFORT ZONE", LUSH, FLY, etc.

Here is a link to DJ Deko-ze's site with some sample tunez.

haha just the oposite of me bro, i listened to that song on x and now i
cant get enough of it, it pisses me off cuz i feel girly when i got it
playin. I can listen to almost anything on E, the only thing i
wouldnt listen to is sad songs, especially sad country. I can
stand country only if its really upbeat and i know the lyrics to sing
along to. The ultimate let down as far as music goes is when you pop in a good cd on x and it skips, cant think of much worse.

There are a few things I like/dislike in techno music while on E. First thing I love is spacey music, a lot of reverbs and echoes. I love when the music is full, when there are many pads in the background. I hate minimal, the rhytm only isn't enough to get me really high. Another thingaare ethnic, hindu spacey, vocals. This kicks me high to extasy-nirvana like state of mind. I like ethnic drums, tablas, sitars combined with electronics. I hate simple music, simple techno with beat and some kind of stupid melody. Goa trance is really good, it has a lot of trippy sounds, is not banal. Recently I've heard Armin von Buuren, this is something I like, but not yet ideal.

Hate hip hop, rap, rock, and everything that is obviously annoying while on E.

well, I am a huge fan of Black/Death Metal and Hard rock, but it just doesn't go to well on e.

Anything sad or depressive just kills the high. Don't like litening to rap on e either.

Never liked most of Drum n Bass on e, it might be good after the peak.

The best one is happy hardcore, esp DJ Kcomplex.

the worst song would be something that doesn't have any melody and is very noisy and agressive so I suppose some Korn or some hardcore (rock)band would scarry me off the dancing scene.
