Can anyone direct me to information on cloning and growing clones on agar-agar? This is an example what I am talking about:

After half an hour of searching I have been unable to find any
information at all about growing salvia in agar. It appears to me that
the agar might just be used to help the clones survive transportation.

This is salvia in rooting phase. It is not just for transport. If I remember right; paul stamets had a book on it, but I can't find it nor do I know the name.
