How many of you 'clean' your pods before grinding?

I read somewhere that someone used to wipe em down with alcohol before grinding and since i dont boil my powder i want to alleviate any risk of contaminates as much as possible.

Question: Mainly i'm removing the grey-ish powder on the surface of the pod exterior, is this the good stuff i'm wiping off?
