This is a repost from the sources forum, with minor edits:
A few months back, SWIM received some 4-acetoxy-DIPT from ******. It's been in the freezer ever since, as SWIM is hesitant to eat it. His reason for pause is that the powder is dark gray/black in color. It reminds SWIM a bit of graphite in appearance, but more granular. It is a dry powder, in no way does it resemble the pictures on erowid of degraded 4-acetoxy-DET. [the source] sent this response to SWIM's inquiry about this strange black powder: "I have had several questions on the matter it was freshly manufactured and we also had the same question to the manufacturer Tests conducted have come back positive." Positive? I'm not quite sure what that was supposed to mean. An answer like "it was tested to be 98% pure 4-AcO-DIPT via GC/MS" would have been a lot more reassuring. Anyway, my questions are: Has anyone else tried this batch, and if so, what was SWIY's opinion about the quality? Did SWIY think it was, in fact, 4-acetoxy-DIPT, and was there anything unusual about the effects? Thanks for any help. I may post this in the RC forum, but I'd like to be specific about the batch for now, thus my posting in Sources. As far as answering my question, what I'm mostly interested is if anyone else has tried this particular batch. I think you'll know if that applies. I am familiar already with the research done on the oxidization of 4-acetoxy-DET, and I've read TiHKAL backwards and forwards, but of course open discussion is welcome. Thanks in advance!Edited by: radiometer |

She has not taken this drug before, but has historically been very
sensitive to all drugs, tryptamines included. She's a softhead. ![]() This drug could be an exception but I think it's unlikely. Upon further prodding, she volunteered that there had been a tiny amount of discernable activity, possibly placebo, described as similar to a cup of coffee.Edited by: radiometer |

Both 4-Aco-Dipt and Iprocin (4-HO-Dipt) turn darker and darker as they age. You probbably just have very old 4-Aco-dipt. This aging process is slower if the chemicals are in the form of a salt, and much faster as a base. I had some grey Iprocin a while back. It started out potent, 25mg = good dose. It took me about a year to finish it off and by that time it took about 30mg to induce the same effects. |
