Extraction - Salvinorin A

Swim has been really interested in extracting Salvinorin A from salvia for a while now. He reckons that salvia and its psychoactive constituents will inevitably become illegal in the UK in a couple of years due of its popular use, illegal status in other countries, and potent psychoactive effect (not to mention that bbc show that covered it).

Swim wants to take advantage of the current situation and extract 1g of Salvinorin A for safe keeping. Also 1g should provide a couple of thousand doses,yes swim has adequate scales . Though swim has limited laboratory skills and extraction requires the use of chemicals swim will have difficulty obtaining. Swim would hate to make something impure and blind his cats.

Swim is wondering whether Salvinorin A is obtainable like other research chemicals are. I could understand why salvinorin is not as readily available as salvia because of the micro gram doses. Should swim continue his quest to find an extract or go ahead and try doing it himself? Swim could imagine 1g costing £300, but the effort involved in buying the chemicals,new glassware, a kilogram of leaf product seems to outweigh the heffty cost he thinks.
