Culture - Dealer Etiquette

Ok so when you purchase any illicit drug, it's pretty much buyer beware. Can't call the Better Business Bureau or post a nasty comment on Angie's list or anything like that right.

But isn't there a kind of "Dealer etiquette"?

I think there is an unwritten code of sorts and especially if the person "hooking you up" is a friend.

Let me know what you think of this situation.

Swim has a regular source where he gets his pot but for convenience sakes since this source is not very, he asked a friend from work to hook it up.
This friend of Swims works with him and has hooked Swim up a few times in the past always with premium stuff, better than Swims normal source.
This friend also always tells Swim not to trip about "bugging" him because he does not mind doing this for Swim. Swim thinks this is cool of him to say and Swim tries to only bug him for a hook only when there is no other option for Swim.

Swim has had problems with hooking up through this friend though and has to just deal with it, because he is Swims only resort other than the other inconvenient source.

Last time he tried to hook up through this friend, it took over a week to get the stuff and Swim had to keep asking for an update on status every few days. He felt bad for having to bug so much, so he thanked his friend when he finally got the stuff and apologized to his friend about bugging so much. His friend always says, "never a bother and your not bugging me, anytime you need something just hit me up", so Swim did again, because he needed to, tried avoiding it again, but couldn't.
So that was yesterday that Swim gave friend the ends to do the do, his friend said he would get it that night (last night) and he did, this morning 9amish or so, he told Swim "I have your stuff", oh cool Swim though since last time it took almost two weeks this is an improvement. Swim thought it was funny how his friend just told him "I have your stuff" but didn't produce it (give it to Swim) right away. 10:30 come along and Swim asks his friend if he could get his stuff now because he wanted to reload his pipe before lunch time, his friend told him that he had it in his car and proceeded to go back to doing random personal stuff. Lunch time came and went and Swim ask his friend if he could please get his stuff now so that he could reload, to which his friend replied, oh can you wait till my friend comes to bring me lunch that way we can go out to my car together and you can meet her.

OK, I'm like what the fuck just give me my F___ING stuff already you son of a B___Ch. AAAARRRGG!

Swim feels like his friend has some sort of power trip where he likes to make swim wait and swim can't say a dam thing because swim needs the hook.

God Swim can't wait till this stuff is legal and sold at the corner store or a medicinal dispensary opens closer to my town or something.

There usually is, especially when it comes to doing business with friends. Dealers need to be rated according to few different criteria:

1 - The quality of the drug in question, does one dealer have better produce than an other dealer.....and how rare is drug in question in a swimmers particular country/area.

2 - The price per weight, does the drug in question always weigh what the dealer claims it weighs

3 - Reliability , is the dealer consistent with fair deals and are they available to do business at the times when swiy is able to do business

4 - Is it safe to do business with the dealer, are they possibly known to police or are they potentially violent

When it comes to doing business with well connected friends , usually most of the above criteria are well met, but a swimmer cant always get lucky. Some times friends ( like other dealers ) have other issues/problems in there own life which may make purchasing difficult for the consumer..... it just how the game goes in the drugs blackmarket.

Swim thinks get over it, this guys gets swiy better quality weed than swiys other guy - this alone is good reason to cut him a little slack. Even if he gets a kick out of making swiy wait, who cares, patience is a virtue.... and good quality weed is worth the wait. Maybe buy more at a time so swiy has to buy it less often therefore swiy has to deal with delays less often and has to worry about annoying his friend less often. Like swiy said, swiy needs the hook-up, swiys friend probably doesnt have to hook swiy up at all .... so be grateful.

Is SWIY buying in bulk? Because SWIM has never herd of having to wait at all for a simple sack, let alone waiting for several days. The way it goes where SWIM lives is you call your guy set a place to meet (maybe a car, parking lot, etc...). He shows up weighs it out in front of you and then you pay. Except if you dont know the dealer then he may not weigh it in front of you but you at least get the goods up front. In SWIMs opinion no one should really ever front out money for drugs because it can easily end up with SWIY getting ripped off.

Yeah, in SWIM's situation there are multiple dealers for each drug found in his town. And the apartment complex SWIM lives in is a well known drug neighborhood where basically each drug is found in good quantity as well as good prices. Also, SWIM is a supplier of certain drugs so he usually doesn't have to worry about the wait time and if there ever is a wait time for any drug it usually consists of the time it takes to walk from SWIM's apartment to his dealers apartment.

Swiy is absolutely right in that Swim needs to just get over it and be glad that his friend even does take the time off of his busy schedule to do this favor for Swim.

I just needed to vent, and I got my stuff finally and it looks great, haven't tried it yet because I'm still at work but dang it smells great. Love that Cali stuff.

No, I used to do that very thing (buy in bulk) on purpose for this very reason, that I hate dealing with dealers. Even if they are cool, I didn't like to make so many trips for small amounts because of the increased odds of getting into trouble with the cops on one of those trips.
Swim stopped buying period when he started growing a few years ago, but then he got together with a square Wife and couldn't grow anymore and now he's back to dealing with dealers.
Swim lives in California and here it is legal to posses and even grow a certain amount of pot for medicinal use (swim is eligible but unable to take advantage of this law but the dispensaries are still too far away to be convenient for swim and his Wife isn’t cool with the whole idea yet.

This apartment complex of yours sounds great. No, Swim is a family guy now and so is limited on the risks he can take in acquiring illegal drugs.
Long gone are the days when Swim would risk wondering the hood for a possible hook up. Now Swim is at the whim of his friends that are still connected, less and less of those friends every year.

If one is only purchasing a gram at a time, who ever is selling it to one is doing a favor. Its not like they are making bank off you. They probably take there time since it is a favor, not a job. They have better things to do then hook everyone up with grams.

Also, I have only heard this so can not confirm it is true, but in Cali there are med shops that deliver and some that mail product. Hell, there is even an Iphone app to help one locate a dispensary.

You are absolutely right about the medicinal pot being the way to go. Swim had been avoiding it but it's beginning to look more and more like the way to go.
The closest dispensary is an hour away and Swim see his dealer during his lunch at work so it was just a convenience thing for me but when your right your right. Also Swim agree that his friend that hooks up the twamps for him is just doing him a favor and it's not his job to hook him or anybody else up. It is much appreciated though.


By the way, my dealer finally came through. Turns out he was in Jamaica vacationing and so couldn't get back to me. He hooked Swimup with some of the best stuff so far and fat too. And smoked Swim out while we watched videos and pictures from his trip. Total Pineapple Express relationship with Swims dealer.

An hour? is that it. An hours drive and SWIY can get a selection of high quality pot. For good deals on good skunk SWIM has to ride about 45 minutes (which get's a little uncomfortable when being 6ft 5 and riding a sports bike) and even then it's certainly not what you'd call high quality as would be found in a coffee shop or dispensary. Also remember that SWIY can buy any amount he wants from the dispensaries and can be assured that it will be good stuff.

Can't believe you're bitching over an hours drive, when you could get such high grade weed LEGALLY!!!!!!
