Alkaloids isolated from Mitragyna javanica

Mitragyna javanica versus Mitragyna speciosa
It will be interesting to note that the sample of leaves of Mitrogyna
javanica obtained from Thailand contained the alkaloids of the
C(9) -H closed E ring normal-pseudo sequence and some alkaloids
in the C(9) -OCH 3 closed E ring normal-pseudo sequence. (Shellard,
Beckett, Tanti-vatana, Phillipson and Lee, 1967).

Mitrajavine was the dominant alkaloid but there was no evidence of the
isomer, isomitrajavine while only the A isomer of the corresponding
oxindole series was present. 3-isoajmalicine was present in larger
amounts than ajmalicine and thus it appears that the route of
biogenesis is through the C(3)-H? pathway. No pharmacological tests
have been undertaken on mitrajavine.

Re: Mitragyna javanica

Swim has 50gs of this which she's been saving for a rainy afternoon and will endeavour to post once sampled. Swim can try to take a snap but it's a finely ground powder so probably isn't much point!

From what Swim's heard it doesn't really do much hence being saved for a rainy day as she doesn't want to 'waste' an evening on it! Swim posted a thread on these forums recently about how her recent batches of K have been of quite poor quality and she's wondered whether suppliers have 'watered down' the speciosa with jav.
