Re: Vains
My turkey sumtimes gets a sorta pins and needles effect in his hands sumtimes which wont go away even if he gives them a good shake, it feels very uncomfortable, swim believes this to be due to bad circulation! Good question though as swims often wondered this but seeing as youve always got all the artarys working alright then there will always be blood getting where its needed??!!

Re: Vains
Poor circulation as has already been mentioned. Long term effects, pain almost every time swiy needs a blood test or an operation.
Swim went into hospital (to have a tooth removed) they couldn't get a vein, so they put her to sleep with gas (fuckin' awful) and when she woke up she had the canulla...in her ankle. ![]() It was the only place, apart from her neck, that they could find a decent vein. Now when she has blood taken they sometimes end up taking it from her neck. She had an IVP (dye injected to see how her kidneys were functioning) and they ended up injecting that in her foot. Bloody painful. So there are lots of things to consider before using a needle, most don't become apparent until after you start using.

Re: Vains
SWIM has no noticable feet, ankle, arm, wrist or hand veins anymore, and his hands go numb when he sleeps.
There's always veins though, otherwise you'd be dead or need amputation. One can always switch to their feet, ankles, etc. and something will have regenerated upstairs after a while. SWIM should mention though that he has been forced to learn how to shoot up with tiny gauge needles into tiny gauge veins. You can always shoot up your palms and fingers and knuckles with small gauge, and because of the activity of your hand they regenerate super fast. You can't inject it as fast which affects the rush, but there is always going to be tiny veins all over your body you can hit. |

Re: Vains
If SWIY use up all SWIY veins sometimes they have to use the central line which means peeling the skin back from SWIY chest and using the vein underneath!! Not for the faint of heart.
Pacman's hands are always falling to sleep and obviously everyone knows it can be a good thing having no veins that work. Maybe this question is better answered by someone who has quit? |

Re: Vains
Also, when you've fucked up all your shallow (easily accessable) veins, this puts more pressure on the deeper veins that are left, and, if you continue using, there's a very real risk of DVT - deep vein thrombosis, which can lead to loss of limbs, and in some cases, if part of the clot breaks off and moves to your brain, heart or lungs, even death.

Re: Vains
VAINS is spelled VEIN. Please edit your post to fix the title.
. SWIM used to inject oxycontin up his vein. It collapsed, got clogged, and SWIM could have lost his arm. Injecting into your vein is a very risky business and can kill you and/or have your arm amputated.
