Sexual - 90mgs Of Adderall / Off The Charts Sex Drive / SWIM Is Losing Her Mind

P.S... SWIM also took about 90mgs of Adderall XR today. On in the morning, then 70 at once. Like half were crushed and half weren't. She doesn't feel much, why is that? She doesn't normally do that, she normally just takes 40mgs a day. She said she's experiencing a sh*tty rush. What SHOULD SWIM be feeling right now? Meh, she went to go smoke another couple bowls. Hopefully there will be a few comments when she comes back.

In swims opinion marijuana always makes other substances more potent.
Also, there could be psychological effects of mixing cannabis with amphetamines.

dopamine is one if the main mood chemicals involving sex. Seritonin actually kills sex drive. Add in the fact that bi-polar/manic depressive tend to have addictive personalities for anything that feels good. Ahem, I'll just say my squirrel has cut down to two Orgasms a day lol so we understand.

Weed has no direct stimulation or action on the body that would do so, other than lowering inhibition. I'm guessing the adderall personally. He's noticed over the years that alot of women get pretty turned on on stims. Combine that with the nature of Bi-polar..

Hmm, tough call. Although if SWIM had to pick, he would say the Adderall is more likely. The weed may be intensifying the effect, but SWIM thinks the Adderall is more likely to be the source. Different people feel different effects from it. SWIM's hamster lost all interest in sex whenever he took Adderall. But SWIM personally usually ended up becomming hypersexual in a similar way that SWIY does. Amphetamine does effect the reward system in various ways, so SWIM wonders if that is part of it.

Also, the "dream like" feeling can be quite annoying. Back when SWIM used Adderall daily, he noticed this feeling seemed worse if he didn't sleep. Is SWIY still getting a reasonable amount of sleep?

No, SWIM wasn't sleeping as much as usual...

the lack of sleep induces a delirium, so that would explain the dream like state. Swim's been there off an aderall binge after day 3 or 4, but was still motoring so he didn't really take notice. And it seems like everyone on speed is sex crazed! More and more frequently I'm seeing an association between speed and porn, wether it be swim's own experiences, fellow swimmers, documentaries and even movies picked up on it. Speed is perfect for sex though. But 10x a day is quite a lot! Soon swiy's gonna be numb to orgasms! That would suck.

It sounds like a little amphetamine psychosis is settling in, and it seems like swiy's already prone to it. If you think that this is effecting swiy negitively, swim would take a break from the speed, and if swiys hallucinating, drugs all togeather.

To be honest Sparkles doesn't think this is what swiy wants to hear...but she'd gonna say it anyway.
Perhaps swiy should stop the drugs, sort out her mental health issues and then, if she chooses use, she will be in a more balanced state of mind to assess her own condition.
Use the process of elimination. Start from scratch, get swiys head straight, then gradually introduce whatever swiy decides to take.
But with bipolar disorder, all of those substances in swiys system and lack of sleep it's difficult for anyone to say (with any real certainty) just what the hell is wrong.
Maybe a trip to see the doc, just to get clarification that swiy is ok, might help?

SWIM agrees with cra$h the above ^^^ could simply be true. SWIM would advise if your staying up more then 2 + days to at least stop teh binge around the 3rd day possibly get some benzos just incase of the above ^^^ "Delirium" occurs and it sure does sound like it is and possibly amphetamine psychosis so SWIM advice also amphetamines kill marijuan type buzz but also potentiates amphetamines in a dopamine way so SWIMS advice is to lay odd amphetamines for a while get your low tolerance back by just smoking some marijuana for a few weeks then start back possibly and don't binge IMHO amphetamine or stimulant binges are unhealthy SWIM is pretty sure this isn't only SWIMS opinion this is probably very true.

Hyper sexuality is a symptom of mania, it can also happen due to an extreme lack of sleep.
Lack of sleep can cause manic episodes in bipolar patients, which causes the patient to sleep less, making the manic episode a self exacerbating cycle.
It sounds as if SWIY is also suffering from depersonalisation and derealisation - probably as a result of lack of sleep and/or a manic episode.
As far as SWIM can see, SWIY can either kick the adderall and hope the manic state subsides, or go to the psychiatrist, confess to adderall use and (hopefully) negotiate a change in SWIY's medication regimen.
To put it in a blunt and concise manner SWIM says if the mania continues to escalate SWIY will either end up in a severe mixed state and/or in the hospital.

SWIM wishes SWIY all the best in regaining control of their mind.

Oh, I was thinkin the same process, but in reverse. If the OP insists on using, cut one drug out, see if thats the problem, if not, cut a different one out, trial and error. But with the mental handicap, the possibilities are endless. Maybe it's not the drugs at all? maybe its the anti-psychotics? But most likely, it's the combo of marijuana and amphetamine

SWIM has to agree with the previous two posters. Years ago, SWIM sat by and watched as a close friend used amphetamine heavily. Ever since then, he hasn't been quite the same. It all seemed to become more noticable shortly after he started talking about changes in perception.

The lesson SWIM learned there was that one can never be too careful when dealing with the mind. Psychoactive substances affect the mind and its chemistry in different ways, especially when used in combination. When used on top of a pre-existing condition, they are all the more unpredictable. Maybe try going without drugs for a week to start with. It might not be enough for SWIY to feel completely normal again. But in SWIM's experience, a week was enough to lift the foggy, dreamlike quality, which did wonders for coherent thinking. After a week or so, see how SWIY feels and consider where to go from there. SAMe combined with Adderall is probably the issue here.

SAMe is a very stimulating compound as it increases the production of Dopamine, Norepinephrine, and Serotonin pretty significantly, basically it does the same thing as adderall but in a more crude, less targeted fashion.

so you basically are spun out, i used to take SAMe with my dexedrine but i started having the same symptoms, so now i only take it AFTER my last dose of dex, it helps keep me from getting as tired when it wears off and helps keep rebound of ADHD symptoms to a minimum.

it does keep me up late sometimes, like tonight. oh and i only take 200mg every other day at most.
