Who thinks ADD/ADHD is BS for the most part?

Some of the main "symptoms" of ADD/ADHD are
- Not being able to concentrate on tasks
- Procrastination
- Impulsivity

Now.. the majority of people I know.. if they're interested in something, they can spend hours/days/etc concentrating on it, if it's some boring thing, they can't. Seems to me that's human nature is it not?

Procrastination.. putting off doing undesirable things. Again, it's only natural you put off doing things you don't want to do.

Impulsivity.. don't companies specifically market their products to encourage impulse spending?

It just seems.. a little bit fucked up that they Rx shit like adderall to little kids. It's one thing for an adult to be taking it, with full knowledge (and consent) of what they're doing, but slipping it to kids to "calm them down"?

Now.. SWIM ain't complaining about how easy it is to get this stuff (his interaction with his psych went something like this.. SWIM: "I have ADHD", Psych: "Well you should try adderall, take 40mg a day".. No evaluation, no questionaire even, just totally took swim's word for it), but you can't help but wonder if ADHD was made up by the pharma companies so they can market pills to kids and have them hooked for life. SWIM actually does have a problem focusing on work he isn't interested in.. but doesn't everybody?

ANYBODY who takes uppers is going to be able to perform better in school, and anybody who takes them is going to be able to motivate themself to do things easier. Hell, if they handed out these pills to everybody, think about how much more productive the world would be, technology would probably advance like 10 times as fast.

On a side note, SWIM does <3 his adderall now (but he's an adult who got it on his own free will, not some kid who has it forced on them by a school consuler).
