An Eighth Ounce of Mushrooms Dry or Fresh?

SWIM too some mushrooms a while back for the first time. He was told that they were an eighth of mushrooms. The kind of mushroom was unknown and they were very dry. It was a very heavy/intense experience. I read that an eighth weighs about 3.5 grams. So would that be 3.5 grams dried or fresh?
