What to make a bowl from?

I dont know what to make a Bowl out of, give me some idea's. Ive used aluminum twice... not a good idea as i find out from reading on the forum. But i have no fucking idea what to use.

sockets work well for gb's, but you are still going to need some sort of a screen in it.

Use an apple, learn to wittle wood, get a soda can, etc etc

Do a quick search online I'm sure there are many websites with stuff like that

As you can see, you just make a "dent" in the side for the bowl, and
then use the tip of a knife to make some small holes for the smoke to
go through. Also, make a small hole in the side for a carb (use your
finger to open and close) to "clear" the can.

check it out, you take a knife, cut a kind of shaft down the top of the
apple through the middle but not all the way, then you cut a hole from
the side coming in to meet that one and then just stick the weed at the
top like where the stem should be and suck through the other hole. im
sure theres other ways to do it this is jsut what i have seen. its an
apple dude, you can jsut carve it up however you feel, and it tastes
delicious.

you cant do the coke can method with an apple because apples arent
hollow. i had actually never seen a coke can pipe and always wondered
how it was done before i saw that model.

take an apple and an pen tube (ends removed). stab the pen down into
the stem about half way through the apple. then on one side, stab the
pen tube into the apple as to meet the other tube, creating a hollow
pathway. i assume that this would work easily, as the apple has a
built-in bowl (top/stem) and is very tasty!<!--

if you have any pipets that come in all herbal extract bottles, the ones where you pinch the rubber part on top of the cap to draw the liquid up, just rip the pipe out of the cap. these make the best one hitters. if you have 2 or 3 of these load them up and hit one after the other.

use a doorstopper as a bowl, that works good


if ur talking about making a whole pipe, then a good way to make a cool little water pipe would be to put the doorstopper bowl through the lid of a small pill bottle. if it doesnt go near the bottom take the lid of a pen or a hollow ben peice or something, any tube that will fit and cut it to length so its mabey 1/4 inch from the bottom

then take another long peice of a hollow pen for the mouthpeice, slowly make a hole near the lid of the pill container (doesnt have to be a pill container any sort of thing that shape with a good tight fitting lid). neway u can just use a knife and twist it in there till its the right size, i usually make it a tiny bit bigger than wrap a couple layers of duct tape around the one end of the mouthpeice and push/twist it into the hole, this will keep it tight.

then make a smaller hole opposite side of the mouthpiece also at the top near the lid. use this as a choke , put a screen in the bowl, put a little water in the piill container, put the lid(with the bowl through it) on, pack a bowl and blaze away

Do you have a garage or toolbox? Just use wrench sockets, like
Club said. I have a magnificent bong made out of some beautiful
glass I got at a thrift store, that I made a hole in, and then used
socket parts as a slide. Or carve fruits/vegetables.
Anything made out of metal (except copper, or is it brass?) that's
tubular, like a can or metal tube. If you have a screened
window/door, just snip a one inch square, and voila, you can make a
pipe out of anything. I always make a habit of carring a 5 pack
of screens with me, so that I can be all McGyver and shit with bongs
and pipes if the need be. I also suck at rolling j's too.
If you just need to make a bowl once, emergency, then just use
aluminum. It's only bad if you habitually use it I guess.



Also, does anyone know of a good way to drill through glass? The
best method I have is using a glass cutter to nick the glass, then I
heat it up with a lighter, and then I tap it with a small pointed
hammer and pray that it doesn't crack real bad. I have heard of
things called glass drills but have no idea what they are or where I
could purchase one.

i used to use a coke can as a beginner but i have heard that it is very unhealthy to your lungs, but they are always funto use every once in a while.


but i would reccomend using a socket for a bowl with a little piece of a coffe grinder cut off and put in for a screen. u can also use the little piece on your tv areal, tin foil works good too but is similar to a coke can that is bad for your lungs

Apple pipes have always been excellent for me. I love the way it tasetes when it ocmes out of them. Sockets are good too, as many have said. I don't recommend foil, or the can method, because aluminum foil isn't good to smoke off of.

if ur gonna use a socket try not to use a used one, and if u do THOROUGHLY wash it, u wouldnt wanna be smoking any oil/grease or anything that would happen to be on it. Edited by: bcStoner420

"Carbide" drill bits are the ones that drill through glass. and they are a pretty regular thing to find at the hardware store. Also SWIM says it is easy to put a small hole in the side of a bottle by shooting it with a BB gun. To keep the BB from going through, the bottle can be filled with water or sand. The BB leaves a pretty clean hole but a (removable) piece of masking tape over the target site might keep any stray glass powder or shards from flying; and rinsing out the bottle is good. It's okay to put the muzzle of the BB gun right up next to the glass. To get a large hole when using carbide, it would be easiest to start with a BB hole and then enlarge it with the drill bit; using successively larger bits for very large holes. Carbide will not work on all glass types. It won't work on tempered glass (some windows, some cooking dishes, some light bulbs, idk what else) and it won't work on safety glass, like car windshields. safety glass also has glue in the middle (maybe not good to smoke). Colored glass is more brittle/fragile than clear glass but prolly no worries there.

The carbide bits aren't real expensive. Carbide edges are also on cheap glass pane cutters. a few bucks USD. a glass cutter can also come with a jig so it cuts the beer bottle tops off, still only a couple of bucks. Diamond tip are more expensive and not really needed for most applications.

A torch will melt a hole too. one idea is to get it red hot and then touch it with something to make the hole. SWIM could also push a stem all the way through and when the glass cools, SWIM will have a permanent seal (unless he can remelt).
