Question Seroquel/Quetiapine: SWIM needs your advice

SWIM is prescribed Prozac, Temazepam and has today been prescribed Seroquel for bouts of mania releated to SWIMS depression. SWIMS prescribed dosage is 2x25mg twice daily, one at morning and one at night, the doctor stressed SWIM is not psychotic but this will level off SWIMS bouts of mania/depression. SWIM does not know what to expect. SWIM has already experienced side effects from fluoxetine and is new to Seroquel. What do other SWIMMERS know about Seroquel, how will it make SWIM feel?

Re: SWIM needs your advice

swim has taken seroquel to come down quickly from a dead end acid trip that wouldn't see it's way off. swim's mom takes it for sleep, as do a few of his friends and he knows it works for sleep. as long as swiy isn't allergic/prone to a negative reaction it seems to be an effective anti-psychotic. best of luck

Re: SWIM needs your advice

SWIM'S sorry whats he problem?? Thread title was descriptive - "SWIM needs your advice", on the antipsychotic forum is suggests that SWIM needed advice regarding an anti-psychotic - how this can be deemed indescriptive is beyond SWIM

Re: SWIM needs your advice

I'm not the one who left you a red mark, but a better title would be "on prozac, now being given Seroquol, would like some personal experiences" As damn near EVERY post asking a question on this bored could also be summed up with "SWIM needs some advice".

Re: SWIM needs your advice

I dont think that this low dosage will flatten down your mania episodes. Perhaps some fatigue when you start taking it!

SWIM into his 4th day of treatment and notices an improvement in sleep. However seroquel makes SWIM feel numb to stimuli.

Hm unless something negative happens then wait it out and see. Swim doesn't think it has the slight anti-depressent qualities of some atypicals. Swim had a bad reaction but not everyone is the same.
