Opinions - clear eyes kills you high?

so check this out, swim was smoking with his dad and his friends and when his friend said in a panic "are my eyes red" (while hotboxing a car) and he pulled out visine and my dad told him that it will kill his high cause the chems in visine.

has anyone ever heard this?

Actually, SWIM's friend swears by this! Whenever they are about to smoke he always makes sure to put in eye drops before they blaze up and if he forgets to do this he will never use eyes drops while high, no matter how high he looks because of his eyes.

I have never hear this before. I really don't think it's true, but the placebo effect is pretty convincing

If anything it's just a buzzkill. You just get paranoid about your apperance that the high dies down with it. Same thing happens to swim. he'll be high as hell, put the drops in, and he's just beat.

And by the way I wasn't saying it's true or that it actually effects one like that I was just letting the OP know that SWIM's friend does the same.

For swim, the drops allways killed the high. His friends would call him crazy.

There is no chemical basis for this activity what so ever, any effects are purely psychological, the result of self conditioning.

In another thread it was brought up that regular use of eye drops may cause long term problems, and one should probably not be dropping every time they light up.

SWIM had picked up a small bottle of visine because he got some bomb grade and the grade gives him really bad blood shot eyes. After smoking SWIM looked at his eyes to see they were beyond red (as predicted). His dropped 3 drops of visine by his eye and moves it around so that eventually the visine would reach the eye (SWIM can't put things in hsi eyes. Freaks him out). After adding, his eyes teared up, got even more red and within the next minute they were completely clear. SWIM was still wrecked for another 1.5 hours after that.

Sounds to me like it is just all in your mind. SWIM reports no change in his high when using it.

Visine advance relief:

dextran 70 0.1%
polyethylene glycol 400 1%
providone 1%
tetrahydrozine hcl 0.005%

I see nothing in there that would would possibly ruin a high. Maybe providone if anything?

I used various eye drops at least daily back in high school and it never killed my high.

Swim thinks the reason people say this is because when swims high, the eyes feel more pressure-y and more chinked, and the eyedrops makes the eyes feel more clear and open, thus making it seem that swim isnt high
