Storing - Storing mescaline and low dosage

AFOAF is making a large batch of mescaline, I think in the form of tea or some kind of liquid, from a san pedro cactus. another FOAF wants to know if this substance can be stored for later use, what the best way is to store it (ie. refridgeration), and how long it can be stored for to keep it fresh?

My friend's friend, who is new to hallucinogens and has never tried mescaline also wants to know if mescaline can be taken in a low dose to not trip as long (like 2-5 hours) and have mild effects. What would the effects of a low dose like this be like?

SWIM remembers reading a preparation for San Pedro "tea." The website said to consume within 24 hours or boil down and encapsulate. SWIM recently prepared five doses of San Pedro like this, with 4/5 of the doses consumed immediately. SWIM forgot about the last dose, which was kept in a fridge, for a few days. As soon as SWIM remembered, he poured the liquid onto a pot and boiled it down to a sticky water-free goo. Even at room temperature, the San Pedro goo was still impossible to do anything with. So, SWIM decided to put the goo in a small Tupperware container and see how it worked. SWIM found the frozen San Pedro to be much easier to work with, and would prefer to swallow frozen chunks over trying to eat the goo.

The mescaline is actually being made into a powder and encapsulated. is there anything special about storing the capsules? and can they go bad?

SWIM finds that a small dose of mescaline (via San Pedro tea) gives an effect similar to MDMA but without the energy. He had no visuals, and the effects lasted about 9 hours, with the come-up taking around 2.5 hours. It was his first experience with a hallucinogen and he doesn't feel he felt the full effects.

Mescaline is very stable but with anything, keeping away heat, light, moisture, and air couldn't hurt. With tea, one needs to keep it refrigerated if it's to be used within a few days, but any longer and it should be frozen to keep from growing mold or bacteria. If a tea does go bad, the alkaloids will stay stable, and the tea could be extracted fairly easily.

The potency of San Pedro varies greatly, but SWIM would recommend about 6-8 inches for a low dose. SWIM consumed 4 inches of a medium-potency cactus and experienced very subtle visual effects but no real "trip." SWIM remembers feeling a little different but never being able to put his finger on what was different.

SWIM had a similar plan in mind; his first time taking San Pedro was the 4" dose. In SWIM's opinion, the experience is best with around 12"-14" of San Pedro. Mescaline is a beautiful substance and a low dose just isn't enough to get the full experience.

Mescaline tends to be very gentle compared to the other hallucinogens. The experience is very introspective and spiritual but also has a positive energy to it. Even a large dose (SWIM once took 26" of fairly potent San Pedro) feels very calm and enlightening.

Swim now has just pure mescaline green powder. he was told capsules wont work that good because a user would have to take too many capsules to get enough mescaline. he wants to know: should the powder be stored in a refridgerator or freezer? or is just an air tight container (away from heat, light, etc) good enough?

"pure mescaline green powder?" If SWIY really has pure mescaline capsules should work fine. Half an OO capsule is enough for a good (400-500mg) dose of pure mescaline. SWIM guesses SWIY got dried San Pedro powder if there's a lot of powder per dose (~50g). This powder doesn't have to be stored in the fridge; just in a dark airtight place.

Mescaline is one of, if not the most, stable alkaloid you will ever attempt to extract from a plant. Fossilized Peyote have been found that still contain almost 100% of their original Mescaline content.
