im sorry if this is the wong forum to post in but i couldent find the correct way to spell this or have any idea what it is.swim bougt a 10th of this white kinda have a little yellow tint and its crystally a little bit and its mostly powerd and a couple chunks. im pretty sure its legit becasue its swims acid guy. what do you think im pretty sure its spelt wrong because i couldnet find a single thing on it. any suggestions?

their main precursor comes from sassafras extract, or safrole oil. It's a

In my area molly is only used when its pure, so it does have meaning. I'm sure it also gets thrown around to describe something as better than it is so it has lost its meaning. I would also suggest swallowing it.

I read somewhere else that mollys are more often the combos of piprazines and not generally e. But then again Ive nver bought mollys. I would never snort an unidentified substance. What if it was 2ct4 or something. You'd die like that one kid did if you did a big enough rail.

Just a quick update on sass. Ran into it at 10klf this weekend,
purchased 6/10g. SWIM was told the proper method of ingestion was
to wet the tip of your finger, touch it to the crystally powder, and
eat it. Each hit was called a fingerprint. When weighed
this morning, I had just over 514mg left. Two fingerprints for me
turned out to be 84mg.



Report: More intense and wonderful than any roll I have ever
experienced. I had rolled both the weekend before and the day
before. I did two fingerprints at roughly 8:15pm, while waiting
for Widespread Panic. I would estimate it took about 20min to
come on. Danced with the crowd (thousands) of other people for
about 3 hours. Then watched an amazing fireworks show, followed
by dancing to Buckethead. Then returned to campsite to be with
friends (we came with about 30 people). I stopped rolling
somewhere around 3am. Very slow and gradual comedown.
Afterglow. Absoultely no depression.



Conclusion: Better than any mdma tab I have ever had. This
is what XTC should be. It was a perfect experience. MDMA
doesnt even compare.

swim must of had not very good sasafras because swime ate a whole tenth and was messed up but no comparsion to 2 good rolls. so you must of got lucky. was you way weireded out the next day or not? when swim did it he could balry tell he did it the night be for like it was clean.

Not at all weirded out. Felt great, with none of the typical mdma
aftereffects. I also had 4/10g of molly to compare (visually) it
with, as well as a few rolls. Was more crystally and cleaner
looking than molly.

OiledMandible, 10klf was certainly a great time. I did 1/8 of mushrooms, 20mg 2c-I and 2 white blotters on that night, so I may have well been dancing next to you. Buchethead tore it up as well. Did you stay up for ALO?


I did have an encounter with the white powder that was being called sassafras, perhaps the same as what you had, I took it sunday for Trey. I also took a green apple and a white cherry, but I took the powder first - it tasted just like MDMA to me. Iknow my way around phenethamines quite well, btw.


I believe that "sassafras" is just like "molly" - a word that some use to describe any mixture or any pure phenethamine that has similar effects to MDMA. I have encountered white powders called "molly" that were totally inactive, as well as molly that had to be pure MDA judging by the dose. Molly is most often MDA or MDA + innocuous whit powder (cut).


Remember, sassafras is a freakin tree, and you most certainly were not eating root bark. Sassafras (the tree)/safrole is not psycoactive at any dose.


Of course it could have been something else good like pure dmmda-2.


The one thing to remember is that there is no regulation in the illicit drug industry, your friendly neighborhood dealer can call anything whatever he wants.

So... Molly/MDMA is usually a white crystalin product which is MDMA. 'Sass' on the festival scene on the west coast is not white but usually yellow and smells very strongly of licorice and is more visual than mdma. It has been's swip's understanding that Molly is pure MDMA powder and Sass is MDA powder.

SWIM experimented with saffron and there should be a thread about it here. SWIM sorta dropped that one and will now remember to revisit with a high end dose. Oddly MDMAish, but different and not placebo.
SWIM has no idea what sassafras powder would be but it is literally a rootbark extract, usually sold as an essential oil, and the alkaloid in it used to make MDMA is saffrole which is not present in safron in any great quantities. Safrole is not active, but can make one very sick.
From the descriptions, sounds like MDA.

I don't know but SWIM has a vague memory of Saffron tasting like licorice?? SWIM does remember it was a very strong taste that tasted like something else she'd had and not liked. Only a tiny bit was used in the recipes, but that tiny bit overpowered any other flavour added. Apparently it is a common ingredient in Swedish recipes. She thinks it had a strong smell too but she is really pushing her memory to its limits right now!

SWIM knows her aunt wouldn't have given it to her children if she thought it was psychoactive, so SWIM guesses the dose for this to happen would be much more than what went in her dinner!!

There are other threads on the subject as well on some of the ethnobotanical forums. SWIM purchased fresh samples of Kasmiri and Spanish saffron from a specialty mail-order house. SWIM has not had much time for assays lately so left it on the back burner. the active is unclear and perishable. It takes only 1-2 stamens to flavor a dish, so psychoactive doses are rarely found in prepared meals. SWIM likes it when properly used in cooking, particularly in cream sauces and paella. The effects are mildly stimulating and empathogenic, but SWIM has not pushed the dose very high. In large amounts, saffron is toxic, BTW.

As no one has actually answered your original query, I will. The answer is no. Saffron is an entirely different animal with no relation to sassafras or safrole. Hence any alleged high from saffron is of no relation to such as MDA or MDMA. Though as spices go - it's about as expensive as MDMA. You are lucky to have had it in Sverige (Sweden, you Bohemians). The classic saffron-bearing dish being Risotto - a rice dish popular in Mediterranean-coastal areas.

Now stop hijacking the thread and get your nose out of Granny's spice-cabinet.
