L.S.A. Seeds Identification questions (are these seeds ok, do they contain L.S.A.?)
Do you think they will be as safe to consume as the ones from the online "ethnobotanical" shops or might they be treated in something toxic?

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Oh yeah walmart sells the cheapest shit they can get their hands on. They almost never sell treated seeds since it costs money to treat the seeds. SwiM finds wm to be the cheapest option but his local stores don't have their seeds out during the winter. Swim would still recomend rinsing these seeds since they are not made for consumption

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Poor logic in thinking they are to cheap to treat seeds. Being cheap leads to things like buying from unregulated industries like China. Sprays and the like cost next to nothing and can allow seeds that might go bad to sit around a few more years until they are needed. Nobody would suspect that the cheaper the seeds, the greater chance they were sprayed with an unregulated insecticide.

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
What about buying them, growing them and taking the offspring?
Better still, the well known auction site has people selling them probably more for less. |

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
That would certainly work fine--all that one needs to be concerned about really is if someone put weird chemicals on the actual seeds that one would be consuming.

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
yeah, at my walmart the seeds come from a seed house in pennsylvania (probably amish) where they are not treated with the fungicide that most MG seeds are treated with. this is not a pestacide like other seeds are treated with but a sulphur based fungicide which is not wise to consume. swim has found that the seeds at his local walmart have virtually nothing on them where as seeds bought from a certain site contain some dark coloured junk that comes off with a washing.
swim prefers his WM seeds to anything else he has had before |

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Well I do not know anything about Walmart. But I will say this. There are distinct differences in potency of MG seeds and possibly the trace alkaloids they contain. Fresher seeds right off the vine tend to be stronger. Now there is a company that sells capsules with ground up MG seeds in them and it does not take all that much of the ground material to get off on them so I have heard. I would suspect that this company is using seeds that they have found to be stronger genetically. So I would say that you could not make a judgement about the potency of walmart seeds through deduction. You would have to know someone who took them and has taken other MG seeds many times as well. But I would also caution that if the package does not say that they are free from chemical treatment there is no way to know that they are. I would think that the best and most trusted source would be a trusted ethnobotanical supplier that sold fresh and potent seeds advertised as chemical free. And in fact I have seen one. But the Walmart seeds could be fine. And one other caution. Just because they are grown by the Amish may not mean a lot. I live near a large Amish area and they will do some sneaky shit despite their "religion". Many are decent people but I am just sayen.

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Growing your own seeds is not only rewarding, but damn easy to do, takes a summer and you get lovely flowers in the mean time.
1: Take a fine grade file and score each seed coat, just rub it down the file once or twice, not a whole lot. 2: soak in water overnight 3: place along a fence with full sun, rocky soil is not only acceptable, but even ideal. 4: consider doing this not in you're yard, especially if you have a garden, MGs are notoriously hard to get rid of once established. Empty lots and other urban wasteland are ideal. 5: Keep an eye on them, come late summer when the seed pods dry out, harvest. Make sure to leave a few for next year. of course if you decide to go the "new seeds" route, might be worth getting HBWR. |

Skip out on the Walmart and think about what SWIY is contributing his money to... Then find a reputable entheo online seller and get a handful of seeds that SWIY thinks would be attractive. Find a spot to plant them and watch out. SWIM had 4 morning glory plants this summer and only harvested dry seeds when he had a chance before they fell to the ground. SWIM still has something like 400 left. |

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Wouldn't this be considered source discussion?
& yea no shit they sell MG seeds, they have a floral section & sell an abundance of seeds & plant life including some mescaline containing cacti.. Also b weary of buying seeds that are soaked in pesticides...SWIM recommends burpee brand seeds as they do not use pesticides |

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
AFOAF uses seeds from wallyworld all the time and that person in particular washes them lightly with water each time just in case, but as far as they can tell theyre pretty effective. Heavenly Blues that is..
and SWIM actually has ~300 seeds in the refrigerator of their castle soaking in Naptha as SWIM speaks! |

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
Beware!
![]() SWIM consumed a packet worth (SWIM is not sure of exact size; SWIM thinks it was over a year ago) of Morning Glory seeds and suffered through a sickening couple hours of nausea and headaches. SWIM got his seeds from a local supermarket and thinks they must have been treated with some sort of fungicide of pesticide. Know what can and cannot be on your seeds.

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
SWIM has purchased Morning glorys untreated from a website and was very pleased with the effects. SWIY can also get them in a bigger bulk so its cheaper then walmart and prolly better quality seeds.

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
What I do whenever I'm dealing with a bag of seeds from a new company that I've never dealt with before is that I look them up online. I check out their website, look up their info and see if they spray their seeds. If I can't find any info, I shoot them an email to be sure. I often get a reply within a week or so. Every company has different ways of doing things and uses a different mixture of sprays if they spray, so just look them up. Walmart might change up their seed companies now and again depending on which company is selling the cheapest seeds, so the easiest and most intelligent thing to do is do your research on the company.

Do these have LSA in them?
Hey. I'm new to the forums. Nice place.
SWIM was wondering if seeds from Hirt's Gardens have LSA in them. Do they? SWIM knows they aren't treated with chemicals, but SWIM doesn't know if they are the right ones. Anyone know? If I'm breaking the rules in anyway, I'm sorry. I read the rules and still couldn't conclude whether this is allowed or now. |

Re: Do these have LSA in them?
Welcome to the forum!
If the seeds are the right plant, it doesn't much matter where they come from as long as the place is generally reliable. |

Re: Do these have LSA in them?
SWIM has ordered from Hirt's Garden online for about 1000 MG seeds, they were excellent and probably the more pleasant experiences SWIM has had with LSA, HBWR (hawaiian strain) seeds that he has have just lead to unpleasant physical sensations with no psychedelic effects

Re: Walmart sells Morning Glory seeds
If my dog had to guess, he'd say they would treat them. Get a credit card somehow and order of a ethnobotonical website. (Sorry if that happened to break a rule)

Morning glory seeds (is this type ok?)
Hi.
Swin recently found some seeds in a local hardware shop called Morning Glory and wondered if they would be ideal for consumption. Swim has done loads of research on seeds, mainly HBWR and MG. I plan to grind them and soak them in water, but should I soak them in alchohol to get rid of the pesticides atec??? What alchohol is best??? Here are some pictures... ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yes, those are the right type of seeds. And SWIY will be fine not soaking them in alcohol.

Swim is a little concerned about the outcome.... Swim said they still have another 10 hours of soaking yet (24)... Does this look correct (the color)....???Swim simply crushed them, and placed them in the water and into the fridge.. He wants to know if this colour is normal??? ![]() ![]() Please reply someone as swim is planning on this tonight... mrkano added 61 Minutes and 34 Seconds later... Also swim used tap water Not spring water...will this affect the seeds and their extraction of LS*.. Last edited by mrkano; 17-07-2009 at 12:59. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Re: Morning glory seeds (is this type ok?)
It looks like your friend is trying a Cold Water Extraction but maybe missed a few steps. The purpose of a CWE, or so I've read, is to reduce the nausea since you don't ingest the actual seeds. However it looks like your friend ommited a few steps.
Most CWE I've ready about go like this: 1)Put seeds into small dish and mix with small amount of liquid soap. Rinse and pat dry. 2) Grind seeds up 3) Put seed grindings into tea bag/coffee filter and add to cold spring water 4) Keep mixture in fridge and away from sunlight. Stir every hour for anywhere from 2 to 10 hours 5) Remove tea bag filled with seed mush and drink the water. Is your friend going to strain that mixture before drinking it or just planning on chugging it down? Also, it's hard to tell from the picture but that looks like a whole lot of seeds. When SWIM does the CWE the water leftover is clear with just a tint of yellow. |
