Smoking - Cannabis paranoia not allowing me to smoke. In need of help

Hello this is my first post and I'd first like to start out buy introducing myself.

"I'm having issues with marijuana I've been smoking for over a year and never had a panic. Recently an incident happened with a friend being doped up on medication for add and bipolar disorders flipped out after take 3 hits off a joint went absolutely insane and smashed through a neighbors window and thought he was dieing. Ever since then when I smoke I have a slight panic attack and since then I've been having anxiety problems. Should I stop smoking for a month or possibly go on pills to calm my ass down and if I took these pills will they interfere with the thc and make a bad mix or possibly even help my anxiety. Please help"
