Experiences - First time rolling -- was this MDMA?

Hi everyone.

I have lurked this forum for a while and has found it to be especially enlightening on a variety of levels. Because of that, SWIM told me that he thought this would be the best place to ask this question.

First, some background about SWIM. SWIM smokes weed daily (or mostly daily) but not excessively (normally a few bowls with friends in the afternoon or late at night when SWIM is relaxing at the end of the day). SWIM has not tried any other drugs until recently, but has been very interested in trying many of them and simply has not really had many opportunities.

Last night, SWIM finally decided that he was ready to try MDMA. SWIM had been very interested in this drug for quite some time, but was reluctant to try it due to it's deadly reputation. SWIM was terrified that he would be one of those few people who couldn't tolerate MDMA and would die on his first time trying it. But based on what SWIM had heard about MDMA, he decided that it was worth the risk.

SWIM's friend "N", who SWIM would be rolling with that night, was very excited that he had acquired several yellow Bart Simpson pills (the kind in the shape of Bart's head). Now, I know what you're thinking -- they're bunk, and are infamous for containing piperazine instead of MDMA. SWIM did not know this when he took the pill (he found out today when he searched "Bart Simpson ecstasy pill" on Google) but he is wondering if there is ANY possibility that these pills contained MDMA. SWIM would like to say that this experience was one of the best of his life, and he feels that his entire perspective has been changed by it. I will now detail SWIM's experience:


When SWIM got to N's apartment, N had taken a pill two hours prior to SWIM's arrival. N's pupils were HUGE and he said that he was already rolling hard. N and SWIM had to go to the parking lot before SWIM could take the E because N had to make a deal. The deal was with a car full of girls, one of which was drunk and gave N a hug and a kiss (they had never met before). After the girls left, N seemed completely euphoric and said that she had just taken his roll to a completely new level.

When they got back to the apartment, SWIM broke the pill in half with his teeth because he didn't want to risk taking the pill all at once for his first time. The taste was extremely bitter, and left an aftertaste for quite a while. SWIM swallowed the first half at about 11:00 PM. For a while he chilled with N and didn't really feel much at all. After about fifteen minutes, SWIM felt a pleasant warmth in his body, but it was not particularly intense. SWIM's girlfriend was there at the time, but she needed to leave, so he walked her to her car.

SWIM felt like he had to burp a lot for some reason, but this could be because he just drank a large glass of water very quickly after he took the pill. He walked back to N's apartment with his friend K who would not be staying that night. SWIM felt that he was very content and at ease, and made a few jokes. He was starting to feel very happy, which was nice because he was in a rather shitty mood, having had a minor accident literally an hour earlier that left him with a broken brake light.

When SWIM got back to N's apartment, N asked if he felt any thing. SWIM knew what people were supposed to feel on E, but he didn't really feel it yet, except for relaxation and happiness (though it was hardly of the euphoric type). N said that he should take the other half, so SWIM did, since he was still alive at this point and figured there would be no harm in it.

N put some techno on, but it was no different from normal. It didn't make SWIM want to dance really, but he did anyway, hoping that it would help the roll kick in. K had to go now, and SWIM felt the urge to give him a hug before he left. N said that SWIM was probably starting to feel it a bit, and SWIM agreed, but still, it was nothing like he hoped it would be.

SWIM suddenly felt the urge to call his girlfriend and tell her he loved her. It was a short conversation, but it put him in an even better mood.

SWIM and N decided to smoke the bong, because N said it enhances the roll. Since SWIM was hardly rolling yet, he decided it couldn't hurt. It was about an hour since he took the first half of the pill by now. SWIM suggested that N put on one of his favorite techno songs, Vicious Delicious by Infected Mushroom. This song contains a HUGE buildup, and it had been SWIM's dream to have his roll kick in at the climax.

So N put on the song, turned off the lamp and turned on the strobe light. By now SWIM was feeling something, but he was pretty sure it was just the marijuana (tingly feeling in extremities, heavy eyes, enhanced vision, etc.), however, the feeling seemed to be more intense then a regular high. He wasn't rolling yet. Suddenly, it got to the buildup. As the music ascended and became more intense, SWIM could feel an energy coming up within him. He felt as if he would float up through the roof with the music. By now he was dancing intensely (something he never did before in his life -- he is normally very self-conscious about dancing in front of people). He put his arms high up in the air then, right before the drum beat comes in at the peak of the buildup, he jumped up in the air and landed on the ground on the first beat of the climax. And then, the roll hit him like a ton of bricks.

He had never experienced anything close to this before. He couldn't stop dancing, the music was the most amazing thing in the world. He looked around and saw visuals in the strobe light (multi-colored patterns, various trippy images). If he closed his eyes, he would trip out completely. Suddenly, the cool air of the fan felt like the most wonderful, refreshing thing in the world. SWIM was euphoric to an extent he had never experienced. If he looked at the trippy posters on the wall, they seemed to jump out at him, and lights appeared on them that didn't even normally appear to exist.

"N," SWIM said. "I'm fucking rolling man!"

"Dude, right on! That's awesome!"

Suddenly SWIM felt so happy that he had N as his friend to share this experience with. He realized what a great friend N was to have introduced this to him. He was so happy, he couldn't even handle it. All he wanted to do was dance.

Speaking of dancing, SWIM's moves suddenly seemed to flow like water. He was quite impressed with what he was coming up with. And the visuals added to the dancing so much. If he looked at the ceiling, the specks seemed to all be moving around. When he looked at his shadow on the wall, it looked incredible for some indescribable reason. Probably, however, the most insane visual that SWIM experienced happened when N pointed at something. Right as this happened, a trail of smoke came out of his finger, morphed into a ship and sailed away. SWIM thought it was absolutely amazing.

It was getting late and they had to turn the music off, unfortunately. SWIM was glad to take a break, because he had been dancing more intensely than he ever had in his life. When N turned the light on, his room seemed completely different to SWIM for some reason. The regular colors of the room were more vibrant and beautiful, and for some reason SWIM got really positive vibes from everything there. The couch felt extremely comfortable, and SWIM felt more content than he could recall feeling in a very long time.

By now, SWIM and N started talking, and would continue to talk for three hours. They never had such a great conversation with each other. SWIM found that his words flowed in a way that they usually never did, especially with N. Though they usually found it somewhat awkward to talk to each other, all barriers had been taken down. They discussed so much more than they ever had before. SWIM could feel (and almost see) an force of energy between them that was bonding them together as friends. They talked about all of their misunderstandings in the past with ease, and understood each other so much more by the end of the night. SWIM had never spoken so openly about his feelings with anyone except his girlfriend. SWIM also noticed that N couldn't so much as say half of a sentence before SWIM was struck with another thought and had to interrupt him and go on another tangent. N didn't mind though -- he was happy that SWIM was having such a great time. And SWIM certainly was. He must have repeated the phrase, "oh my god, this is so great..." fifty times over the course of the night. The only annoying thing is that both SWIM and N tended to forget what they were talking about a lot, but after relaxing for a moment, it always came back to them.

SWIM suddenly started grinding his teeth and felt desperate for something to chew on. N had a pacifier, but SWIM instead decided to chew on a cigarette filter. After a while, SWIM had to get home, so he decided to try to sleep the effects off, but to no avail. He was absolutely wired -- he couldn't stop thinking about how great the experience was and how he wished that he could do this all the time (but knowing the dangers of frequent ecstasy use, he ruled this idea out completely). He just laid there smiling, thinking about the night and about how wonderful life was.

After about an hour and a half of laying awake in bed, SWIM felt all right to drive home. He was still grinding his teeth and needed a piece of gum, but didn't have a single problem driving home (it had been about 7 hours since he took the pill). He felt a nice afterglow and was still smiling all the way home. When he got home, he tried to sleep again for another two hours, but was still unable to do so. When SWIM got up to take a shower, he had mild chills with muscle and joint pain, but it wasn't unbearable. The rest of the day, he still felt happy that he had such a wonderful experience. He truly felt changed by it.


Anyway, I'm sorry that this is such a long post, but SWIM really wants to know if this was MDMA or not. I know that there's no way of knowing for sure without testing it, but I figure there should be a pretty obvious difference between the effects of MDMA and piperazine. When SWIM got home today and read some pill reviews for Bart Simpson, practically every one said that they never contain MDMA and provide really horrible experiences, but as you can see, this was hardly the case for SWIM. Any help is greatly appreciated.
