SWIM wants find the best way to absorb cannabis... with the least health risks possible. It would have to be easy on the liver and gastro-intestinal systems. In fact, it would have to be so 'easy' that even a sick, weak SWIM could reap the benefits of the herb.
Smoke is hard on the lungs, so Vaporizer would be ideal SWIM thinks, but right now he can't afford one. SWIM doesn't think some sort of tea would be effective, is he right? SWIM has read about tinctures, but he is wary of the risks involving alcohol in the preparation. With edibles, like cannabutter, SWIM's main worry is that his weed might be 'contaminated', or 'dirty'. Not that it is, he's smoked a bit of it and it's pretty good, and looks and smells good too. but just to make sure it's clean. Maybe it's just an OCD thing, but SWIM would like to know which method would effectively "kill" or separate any microbes and whatnot. So in this 'quest' for a soft-hitting cannabis preparation for a sick SWIM, what are SWIY's suggested methods and/or preparations? Thanks in advance, ![]() Pacha |

Re: Health-friendly cannabis consumption?
SWIM would go with the easy and effective lightbulb vaporizer or an alcohol based tincture. Both are safe and healthy alternatives to smoking.
Idk why SWIY is wary about the "risks" of alcohol based tinctures, because as far as SWIM is concerned there are none. The amount of alcohol SWIY will be ingesting will be so minute it will have insignificant effects. By far the best Route Of Administration was the alcohol based tincture as it lasted longer (6-10 hrs) and it was equipotent to taking massive bong rips/ vapor hits. & as for tea, it wouldnt be effective because THC is not water soluble, so SWIY would have to add some butter or something. It would be easier just to make an alcohol based extract or cannabutter. Good luck |

SWIM is still unsure of how tincture is meant to be consumed. ![]() From what he has seen, people use one or two drops sublingually? Is that right? BTW, SWIM came across an ancient thread where SWIY asks about an OIL based cannabis tincture. Did SWIY have any luck with that? |

Re: Health-friendly cannabis consumption?
SWIY has made oil based tinctures but he found them less effective at extracting all of the cannabinoids.
And typically the dose varys depending on how much bud was used per fluid ounce of alcohol. SWIM ussually doses 1-2ml and uses an eighth-5 grams of high grade pure fluid ounce. If SWIY needs the recipe just use the search engine and SWIY will find SWIMs along with other's recipes for making tinctures.. |
