Drug info - Artane (Trihexyphenidyl)

are there any peeps out there that have tried or have knowledge of Artane (Trihexyphenidyl). swim is 28 now but have vivid memories of when swim was 16 and had a friend who was schizophrenic, we both meet up one day and he gave me 4 pills and said they were called artane. at this age swim was up for anything so he took them, what he remembers was the most strange and weird evening, swim will not be going into detail of what happened, unless asked by a fellow blogger, but it was by far the most strange experience of swim's life and swim has done lsd, ketamine, MDA, and all the regular ones too,

so has anyone out there got the knowledge to enlighten swim about this substance, its legality, health implication etc, part of swim wants to do it again but not without more knowledge on the substance

Trihexyphenidyl is an antimuscarinic. To put it in simpler terms, it works by blocking a specific path of the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine (the very same nicotine stimulates, although on a different path). This makes it anticholinergic, thus a sedative.

The medication is prescribed for two conditions: Parkinson's disease and the extrapyramidal side-effects of antipsychotics, it is not an antipsychotic itself. Extrapyramidal refering to the parts of the brain responsible for coordination, balance, and sense of location, to an extent.

If one is to take trihexyphenidyl, they should seriously avoid alcohol in any amount; the drug is known to GREATLY increase blood alcohol levels.

Trihexyphenidyl is a prescription in the UK, but not a controlled substance; meaning one cannot get in trouble for having possession of another's prescription in any amount with "intent to abuse or sell." However, as exists here, and I'm sure exists in the UK, abuse of any prescription substance is classified as illegal. Proving said abuse with this substance would be a lot more difficult than say amphetamines, or benzodiazepines.

hey thanks alot dude, i have to say ive never heard of anyone taking this substance for fun, ive always kept my ears open since swim took it all those years ago, but never came across it again, swim had a very strange night, the ride was similar to lsd only with much more confusion about where one is and what is happening, although swim hallucinated the main thing was a severe confusion in the mind, to the extent where swim was convinced he was in a truck driving on the freeway, so much so he grabbed his buddy and asked him to slow down as the truck was going a bit to fast, only to be told that swim was in his apartment on his couch, at that point swim realised this to be true, swim had never hallucinated being in a truck, the hallucinations were not that strong by far, rather he could see swim was in a room but his mind was saying he was in a truck, very very strange, the night kinda went on like that, more hallucinations and more utter utter confusion. smoking joints that were never there, not knowing where swim was (at one point swim found himself and his buddy in woodland and kept walking in deeper for at least 10 minutes thinking they were in the street, before they realised they were in the woods lol.) forgetting swims name etc etc.

im glad this substance never really caught on, its strange that iraqi cops would be using this, i really cant see how or why, but swim dropped 4 of these pills at once, so maybe in smaller dosage it would be a better experience.

Swiy's trip report reminds Swim of his experiences with Salvia. Once he was smoking some at a friend's house, when all of a sudden, I was at a bus stop. The rational part of my mind acknowledged that I had taken a drug, but still tried to figure out the bus stop!
