The downside: GHB/GBL vs Alcohol?

I've always heard and thought of GHB as a fairly safe non-toxic compound, with GBL being lesser known on the internel organs but still being GHB in the brain. I've always been aware that mixing it with alcohol is stupid and SWIM would dose 2ml for recreation, SWIM is a regular user of GBL, well once/twice a week and doesn't have any problem wth addiction or overdose and that's not who I want to discuss here.

SWIM uses GBL over alcohol because he enjoys it better, it feels much cleaner, SWIM can get quite intoxicated with GBL without any sort of sickness or comedown/hangover.

So this begs my question and I know GBL isn't well known on the blood, liver, heart etc being psyically different but In the long run, is using GHB/GBL over alcohol doing you a favour in terms of brain damage, heart disease?? Maybe point this out from a GHB perspective and added dangers of GBL can be a bonus.

One thing I've learnt with this drug (GHB/GBL) is it's very sided, you have people who deem it (when used properly) to be very safe, non-toxic and great for thier well being and people who'll tell you it's damn right dangerious and stupid which I would guess is mostly media hype.

Your (and SWIYS) views?
