Any toxic substances from using bongs produced from the lighter?

Been wondering if continually using bongs to smoke your cannabis would have any overlooked detrimental effects compared to smoking a spliff (assuming both are pure weed) as with bongs the lighter is being used much more frequently, for longer periods and often inhaled deeper. Where a spliff smoker might use a lighter 3-5 times a day to spark a spliff, a bong user might use it 20-50 times, and for much longer when they do.

I was just wondering as swim was vaporizing a substance recently and the thick black residue the lighter left on the outside of the glass did not look at all healthy. So are there any potential health considerations people think may occur from frequent usage of standard lighters?
