Perscription addiction and help!

hi, im a newbie on these forum thingies and I dont really know what to say. i have been addicted to over the counter and perscription drugs now for aboout 10 years and it has all finally come out last week. my family have been great even though they found out that i was a lier and stole their medication when they where not about. I am going to an in patient addiction clinic on monday where i will stay for 2 weeks but i am worried about the process and the withdrawells. Im not proud to say it but I can take 50mg of Diaziapan and go on about my daily business in work and at home with nobody noticing! what medication is used to withdraw all that codine, sleepers and the other shit i have been putting in my body. im really scared but i know that it will be well worth it in the end and it will take great strenght. if anyone know anything on this subject could they please please reply as soon as possible. thanks

In particular item 1.16 and self-incrimination. Then tidy-up your post so to adhere to the rules, then maybe some helpful advice will be posted.

hi. usually the inpatient process for stopping valium involves a taper (a gradual reduction in dose), this is much safer than cold turkey. as for the opiates, they have many different ways of treating opiate withdrawals in this day and age, so swiy would do best to ask the addiction clinic which process they will use for swiy. we can only speculate.

Re: Perscription addiction and help!

Try not to be too worried swiy butterfly. The worst part is over, swiy fessed up and is getting help with the problem. Before swiy gets to the treatment/detox center get as much information as possible, go through it, work out any questions swiy might have and write them down. If swiy can't get info (most centers are happy to help with this) take the questions with swiy and ask then.
Swim always finds it easier if she writes stuff down. When she's stressed she can't even remember her name, let alone think of questions to ask.
The more comfortable swiy is with the whole process the easier it will be. There's nothing as scary as the unknown. Just don't be afraid to ask.
And remember the people helping swiy get clean are professionals, they are the best at what they do, so try not to be too fearful.
Hope all goes well for swiy.
