constantly blocked nose

SWIM has been using cola for many years. he stopped using it during the last six months but his nose keeps on being blocked and congested. is it possible that cola has permanently damaged his nose?

what will he have to consider when using cola in the future in order to be able to absorb it?

Re: constantly blocked nose

It is entirely possible that cocaine has damaged SWIM's nose. Cocaine constricts blood vessels within the nose. When these vessels are constricted, less blood flows through the area, and therefore less nutrients and oxygen as well. If constriction continues or happens with regularity, tissue within the nose can die. This can lead to a number of issues, including the classic doper's hole between the sinus or nasal cavities. Damage like this can lead to blockage in the nose and a congested feeling as SWIY describes (and it can also go unnoticed for a long period of time: normally SWIY would feel a stinging or burning, but because of the numbing effects of cocaine, SWIY is less likely to take note and stop before real damage is done). Of course, the best thing for SWIY to do would be to have a doctor examine your nose and determine whether it is damaged. Personally, SWIM would recommend trying to break the cocaine habit and preventing any more serious damage from occurring.

Re: constantly blocked nose

Swim can completely relate to blockage only when swim has been using for a long time continually. It got past the point where nasal sprays would even help much. Despite the blockage and repeated mornings of barnacle-esqe nasal crust, swim still wanted to indulge swimsself.

Saline sprays are great but don't do the trick after a long night of nose powdering. After researching on swim's behalf, I found possibly deftest method of having one's overused nasal passages cleansed of cut, snot and whatnot. I suggest - and honestly it may seem gross to some but highly effective - the ancient yoga cleansing technique of Jali Neti. Google it for everything swiy needs to know.

After a long night, swim gives swim's nasal passages a good rinse and then follows up with some nasal spray for good measure. Nary a whistle can be heard in swim's nose...

WhtRabbit added 1 Minutes and 2 Seconds later...

Oops. Typo...it's Jala Neti
