Drug info - Social anxiety, depression, meds?

what would i be prescribed for a problem with social anxiety, i cant cope going to a party, pub, or club scene without feeling very anxious, getting headaches, feeling annoyed and very uncomfortable.

i have suffered with this problem for years, and have never spoken with a doctor about it, appointments around here dont come around for along time, so when i do make one, what am i most likely going to hear from a doc, not really looking for therapy...

i heard benzo might be one of the possible perscibed... but what does SWIY think would be the best bet for making me cope. and be happy/have fun for once.
