Alcohol Absorbtion Question.

Alright I dunno if this is the best of questions, but it certainly interests me. According to many sources(including erowid) alcohol takes quite a while to fully absorb, I believe they say up to at least 30 minutes to fully absorb into the bloodstream. Now after taking a shot I sometimes feel like I can feel its effects almost immediatly, what my question is, is this completely within my psyche? (or in other word placebo effect?) Or do you believe some of the alcohol is absorbed instantaneously?
