I know that morphine, GHB and I think THC are produced by the brain. Can anyone name any more, and is THC produced by the human body?

There's actually a term for drugs produced in the body, they are Endogenous. Our brain makes endorphins, which is the equivalent to morphine. It makes adrenaline and noradrenaline (the uppers). It also makes downers in the form of serotonin and GABA.

N,N-DMT, 5-Meo-DMT, 5-Ho-DMT (Bufetonin), Tryptophan and 5-htp are
produced by the body, and quite a few other Tryptamines as well (I don't remember). Morphine produced by the brain? I think this is wrong... |

I didn't say our brain produces morphine, I said it produces endorphins that are our natural equivalent to morphine because they provide the same effects as opiates. Also, morphine binds to the same receptors as the endorphins.

morphine. I m not sure about that. But thats not the same like it is produced from the body! For example n-OH-2c-b is a chemicals that simply decomposes in my trouser pocket to 2c-b. But nobody would say, that my trousers can produce 2c-b The question is, whether it is PRODUCED by the body. Edited by: Dimitri |

Anyone else feel the body turn on endorphin while watching TV. I stopped watching TV a number of years ago, but I will watch every now and then. When I do watch I can feel something in my head and it seems similiar to opiates. Sloppo |

every drug has an endogenous counterpart or else it wouldn't be a drug. as far as the exact chemical being produced by the body DMT is the only one i know of, which isn't to say that there arn't more.
