Police: Camp Bisco fan tried to board plane with Ecstasy, LSD, pot

DUANESBURG — A college student from California who attended the Camp Bisco concert was arrested Sunday at Albany International Airport for allegedly trying to bring drugs onto the plane.


Ryan J. Kast, 20, of Visalia, Calif., attended the three-day music concert this past weekend at Indian Lookout Country Club in Duanesburg, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Department.


He then attempted to board a plane on a flight back to San Diego. A Transportation Security Administration representative patted down Kast and discovered a plastic bag in his pant leg, police said. TSA officials called police and officers found Kast in possession of seven Ecstasy pills, two sheets of LSD, a small quantity of marijuana and a zip-lock bag containing an unknown powder, deputies said.


Kast faces charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a B felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.


Kast was arraigned in Colonie Town Court by Judge Andrew Sommers and was sentto the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.


This is second arrest of a person who attended the concert. Jonathan R. Taylor, 30, of Portland, Ore. was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation charge of possessing marijuana. Taylor allegedly attempted to sell drugs to people at the concert and was removed by security.
