Kava Oil?
I'm continuing on my search to be able to make at home a safe kava extract. I have successfully made alcohol based extract but am not entirely convinced of their safety... I'm not really able to find information on how to make a water based extracts although I know there are companies that do this - so my next step is oil. I have read that the active ingredients in kava are fat soluble......so.....can they somehow be extracted into a vegetable oil or similar and then stored in the fridge? Apparently the kavalactones don't like heat and will be destroyed but when making iso extracts the mixture was heated quite high and still produced results. Any ideas out there...
