Can he used drugs with paroxetine and valpromide?

Hi everybody!

To begin, sorry but my english isn't fluent...and maybe I post this in the wrong section.

Swim is actually on Paroxetin plus Valpromide prescription. Important things, it's not for bipolar trouble.
The reason of this prescription was a previous addiction to alcohol and amphetamine, now the problem is craving! Craving induce by professional stress an anxiety disorder,he is also a little bit impulsive.

With all the other drugs, he can control himself, he used sometimes MDMA, LSD, opiates, kratom, benzo and rarely K.

Swim don't want to avoid totally drugs. He know that MDMA, DXM and some other drugs are banished with IRSS.

But with this double precription can he take some opiate, kratom and K? ( for benzo it's ok )
If he take kratom, he also know that krypton is not a good idea because of IRSS action of O-desmethyl tramadol.

And this double medication cause insomnia, he take zopiclone to fight this insomnia but the side effect and the fast tolerance embarrassment him. Some tips for the best sleeping pills with this prescription?

"Merci d'avance" for your reply.

He find sleeping pills prescribed by his doctor, Noctran...clorazepate/10mg+aceprometazine/7,5mg+acepromazine/0,75mg...very strong...

The paroxetine and...valproic acid? were for alcohol and amphetamine dependence? And swiy's craving them again?

Has swiy told his doctor about the insomnia, about which drugs didn't work, about the one that's too strong?

I don't know what's available in France, he'd have to ask his doctor.

Re: Can he used drugs with paroxetine and valpromide?

Yes paroxetine and valproic acid.

Swim did not used alcohol and amphetamine daily but sometime even with this treatment he want to used them again...but he didn't.

The problem with clorazepate+aceprometazine+acepromazine was that did not induce sleep but only relax swim, and in the morning he was totally stoned.
But his doctor did'nt want to prescribed anything else.

He want to find another doctor, because this one just prescribe don't listen.

So, can he used opiates and Kratom with this treatment?

Re: Can he used drugs with paroxetine and valpromide?

So, someone is thinking of making a cocktail of:

paroxetine + valproic acid + kratom (or an opiate substitute) = ?

Righto, swiTea consulted a couple of sources with respect to drug-drug interactions and didn't notice any big red flags. That said, swiTea can't comment from personal experience on this cocktail, only what the sources say. Another doctor, one that listens, and is willing to treat the problem rather than just symptoms might be the best thing for obtaining good results and expert opinion.

This, certainement.

I ran paroxetine, valproic acid, and oxycodone through Clinical Pharmacology's drug interaction thing and the only result is that because paroxetine inhibits CYP2D6, you may get more of an effect from opioids that are metabolized that way. So if you haven't used opioids with paroxetine before, start at a lower dose than you think you need, just to be safe.

And, not to sound like your mom, but if you've had addiction problems with other substances, be careful with opioids. Just had to add that in there.

Aussi, je parle un peu de francais, mais ton anglais est meillure que mon francais...

Re: Can he used drugs with paroxetine and valpromide?

Swim looking for another doctor.

He know that talked about addiction treatment and in the same time asked a question about taking drugs with this medics was a little bit paradoxical.

But he know his own limits, maybe in a conceited way...yes.
He never had any trouble with another substance than alcohol and amphetamine ( and also GHB and benzo, to be honest )

Affinity with CNS depressant.
So you're right maybe it's dangerous to consume opioïde/opiate, but he have an avantage...his wife, who doesn't accept another addiction.

Sometime, punctualy, he just want to enjoy the relaxation induce by kratom or poppy pod tea.

He will be very carefull if he use psychoative substance, don't worry "maman"

Thanks for your answer.

"Au plaisir" chibi curmudgeon!

Do be extremely careful with methadone and SSRI combinations...This combo killed both Anna Nichole and her son a few months back
