Shaking Hands

SWIM's hands shake mildly and his parents notice this.

SWIM is a regular H user. Shoots up every other day.

SWIM is wondering if his shaking hands may be some other medical problem or is it because of his H use. His parents want him to go to see a doctor but he doesn't want to incase his H use is found out.

If the shaking of his hands isn't due to H, then maybe SWIM should go see a doctor?

any suggestions?

Re: Shaking Hands

SWIY should put a "y" instead of "ing". With the "ing" it sounds like it's about people shaking hands together. Furthermore, others who try to find threads related to the same problem will be more likely to find it using the search engine.

Oh and SWIM thinks it's just to the H use and is nothing to worry about. SWIM knows it looks freaky but even if SWIM used H just one day she will have shakey hands later that day and the next day as well.

Not neccessarily true about the "y" instead of "ing" advice but thanks for trying to help anyways

This is an international forum and some users English isn't perfect, this post was quite clear as to intent.

helpful advice. I was confused by the title, and think you're correct.

Re: Shaking Hands

Pacman has never noticed shaky hands from heroin use. Has SWIY abused other drugs though as pacman's hands used to shake really bad when using ecstasy and amphetamines a lot and this lasted for a few years. They still shake a little now but nowhere near as much as before. people used to say he had parkinsons!

Re: Shaking Hands

actually swim has been told by his G/F that his hands shake sporadically from time to time, there is a possibility that it could be caused from years of opiate usage, maybe disrupting the body in some way? would be interesting to research anyway!

More information is needed to establish or eliminate possible causes for this symptom.

-When did this start?
-Has this happened before? If so, when?
-When or how often does this happen?
-Does the hand shaking subside immediately or soon after the use of heroin or other opioids?
-Is SWIY taking any medications such as SSRI's or Lithium? (Or any medications for that matter)
-How severe is the shaking? (define "mildly")
-Are there any secondary symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, or vision problems?
-Does SWIY have a physical dependency to heroin or other opioids? If so, how severe is the dependency? What are the withdrawal symptoms?

Quite simply, shaky hands or tremors could be caused by a number of factors. Once opioid dependency and/or withdrawal has been ruled out, other possible causes can then be examined. These causes may include (but are not limited to) stress, medication side effects, neurological disorders, diabetes, or movement disorders such as Essential Tremors (ET) that may be hereditary.
And the list goes on...

If the hand shaking is not due to opioid use or dependence, the best possible course of action would be to see a doctor.

Re: Shaking Hands

SWIM never had this happen during his first 3.5 year run.

Then about a month ago, SWIM bought the worst dope he ever had. It cooked up into a disgusting gel that SWIM just kept trying to water down and get into the syringe. He thinks some idiot cut it with flour or some other starch product. Anyways he ended up with a syringe filled with gelatin, which he managed to get into himself over the course of 2 days.

He felt like something was swollen in his neck when he swallowed, his hands were really shakey, and he could tell his heroin use was masking some kind of sickness - which is saying something.

It went away after about a week. SWIM has no idea what happened but that was the only time he had shaky hands. Just adding SWIM's piece to the puzzle.

Re: Shaking Hands

Shaking hands can be due to a variety of things, nerve damage from injecting, underlying mental and physical conditions. My fiends hands shake when he cooks up because he has spilled it one or two times in the past, so he tends to either fix the spoon in place or lifts it off the surface just enough to get a flame under it. Oh and he nearly always uses a surface that if a spillage occurs he can collect the majority of it up, glossy magazine cover works well, carpets do not HAHA.

Re: Shaking Hands

Swim found her hands always shook when she was using. But opiates (especially "h") always had a "speedy" effect on swim, similar in a way to using amphetamines.
Without more info as swi Electrolingus already said, it's difficult to do more than compare symptoms.
Even with info it's still not a good idea to rely on a forum for a diagnosis, it could be anything.
See swiys doctor, he's the expert.
